I think I might go to bed right after this and stay in bed until noon today for some reason :)
BTW WHITE RABBITS!
Well, I have predicted Odin's return today, along with others. Will we be right? Watch this space!
ChloeB & Tiger's Osprey Data
A memorable day for all of us who love these birds. It has been emotional and dramatic.
Goodnight All.
It was fantastic MARGO. The new volunteers were all so enthusiastic and excited which really added to the drama that was unfolding. A lovely experience and a great start to the roller coaster of a new season!
Is it poss to give synopsis please It wouldn't open
I've just been catching up since about 5pm and I see there has been some mating going on - well why wouldn't there!!!!!! LOL
ChloeB - what an absolutely fab caption on your capture, one for the archives I reckon.
Sandra and Elliloo - same here < OH is not interested in the ospreys etc so I am tucked away in the conservatory away from his computer and when we have sound back I can listen to my hearts content at the goings on etc. One thing in OH's favour, he did take me to Rutland Water last year towards the end of the season and we managed to see some of the ospreys there.

Exhusting day for everyone it seems :-)
A very old Shropshire Lad.
Phew - been away from computer all day, and it's taken me a good hour to catch up! High drama at both LG and Rutland, hopefully with good outcomes all round. Thanks to all for your posts and pics.
I'm inclined to agree with CRinger - we know XD is an old, experienced male: if he really wanted to hang onto the nest and EJ, I'm quite sure he could have put up more of a fight than he did. Though given that EJ had given him a fairly clear idea who she favoured, it might not have done him much good.
As it is, he may yet get the best of all worlds (his own offspring in 2 nests, with minimal long-term investment in the first lot); at worst, thanks to Roy & co., he now has a nest to return to, and hasn't spent the last few days continuing to struggle - perhaps in vain - to rebuild from scratch.
