Hi everyone. If you didn't check the last few pages of the previous week, it was very busy. I'm going to catch up all the latest posts after dinner.
Hello.Lovely picture Alan. I always enjoy watching the collared doves in my garden. It's always brilliant entertainment with their antics. :-)I know what you mean about wrapping Christmas presents Margobird. I tend to try and buy gifts that are either cubed or cuboid as they are easier to wrap. Either that or make sure the item comes in a box. Bit of a tangent but I fondly remember the Broons, and Oor Wullie anuals from my childhood. One would come out one year and the other the next. I always found it hillarious how they managed to wrap such things as footballs, cricket bats, and hokey sticks, in the exact shape of the item. :-)Paul.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Same here Brenda H and lots of birds coming in to feed plus 2 grey squirrels which are regulars now all through the day. They have a bowl of peanuts which they share with the wood pigeons. I have found out that they leave the hanging feeders alone if I do this.

Alan, thanks for the photograph of the doves. Your geraniums, still being in flower also caught my eye. I was just trying to decide if I should remove ours today before the forecast frosts finish them off. ( garden green bin collection tomorrow) I hate to throw anything away that is still in flower but I can also see the daffodils coming through under the geraniums in the same pots. Will wait and see I think.
Hello Heron77 luckily most of them were good shapes, the only difficult ones were the Christmas Stockings I get for my sister's springer spaniel but I am really feeling better about Christmas now. A couple of weeks ago I had done nothing but all I have to think about now is the food.
I remember all the annuals as well and it must have been hard for my Mum wrapping up dolls for which she knitted all their clothes and them wrap them without us guessing what they were. Bless her she passed away 9 years ago yesterday and Dad nearly 3 years ago and I really miss them at Christmas time.
oringinal goldfinch have just read the link and that is sad news I think. It brings home again what a hazardous journey migrating birds have. I am waiting with bated breath now to see if Mallachie is OK.
Lots of birds in my garden this morning and the blackbirds are fast eating the berries on a tree in my garden. I also have a pair of pied wagtails visiting. They only turn up when we have had wet weather. Very frosty start to the day this morning and I think they are all trying to eat as much as they can before they go to roost.
original goldfinch I am trying to catch up on the forum so have been reading the latest posts first. Sorry you had such an unpleasant start to the day. Hope you are not going down with some awful germ.
I meant to mention Rothes as well. Put it down to wrapping up Christmas presents for nearly 5 hours. I thought it would be a lot quicker but it is amazing how long it takes to sort the sellotape out which gets wrapped up in itself and tying ribbon and putting bows on and making sure I have put the right name on the gift tag.
Alan congratulations when the 20th anniversary comes round, I am impressed you remember how many years. My husband remembers the date but not how many years lol. Perhaps it is all a bit too much for him.
We have just had to refill all the bird feeders again and more for the ground feeders. That is the third time today and they were lining up waiting for us to finish.
Congratulations to Tweed patriciat and I hope Fly is fully recovered, look forward to photo.
