Hi everyone. If you didn't check the last few pages of the previous week, it was very busy. I'm going to catch up all the latest posts after dinner.
I also hate crowds give me the open countryside any time. Speaking of open countryside and for the attention of Hamish,Tweed,Fly and Dillon and any other canine friends I have not mentioned tonight at 7:00 on BBC2 an hour of One man and His Dog from Co. Antrim introduced by Kate Humble.
My OH would tune in just to watch Kate read aloud from the phone book Alan. (also, Julia whatsername who does the Walks series.)
morning all. Thanks for all the catch up. I must have got my post in last night just before the whole thing crashed (no link there I hope)
Margobird, enjoy your trip but I know what you mean about crowds. No fun when you can't go where you want to and have to just follow the crowd.
Lindybird, sorry about the housework! What is the world coming to!!
Alan, thanks for the pictures, great to see. I love one man and his dog.
Been mild here overnight and mild today before turning chilly later in the week. Auntie, hope you haven't frozen to anything!!
Braving a mall today :( but, Annette, will be going through Nordstroms, so will look out for a man and a piano..
I will certainly be watching 'One Man and his Dog' but not to see Kate. I used to love Phil Drabble, who did the series some years ago. I have just checked, the series ran from 1976- 1993.
Brenda, sorry , meant to say before thanks for the description of Tenderten and the railway. I could picture you waiting for the train to pass. A lovely part of the world down there:)
Gary, last time I was on the train with visitors, I tripped over and hit the ground with a thud. Being truly British I insisted I was fine and we must continue with our train ride. Our daughter, who is a Dr., (after she had stopped laughing) attended to my wounds and we continued. I must have looked comical, as I sat on the train in absolutely filthy white jeans, holding a melting, orange ice lolly to my face, to stop the swelling. I must admit I was glad to get home but our visitors enjoyed the day!
Had a successful trip to Edinburgh yesterday so now I have completed my Christmas shopping but glad I did not take Gary's advice as I am going to my sister in laws for Christmas dinner and I think I would be shown the door if I had taken his advice.
Alan how did you make your stovies was it with mince corned beef or sausages?
I'm sure Mallachie will be alright because how many frights did she give us on her migration she just likes to keep us guessing.

Georgeg : As far as I can remember stovies was made with whatever was available but usually potatoes onions and minced beef.
Todays bird in a dish is a pigeon:
2 eagles now at Store Mosse national park:
Alan thanks for the pigeon in the dish photo and also the eagles. Looks really cold there. Have just seen the weather forecast and it seems it is going to get even colder through the latter part of this week. Still raining here and so dark with it. Have had to put the light on.
