Tiger Signature
Tiger: I think so -- based on my own gut feeling! :-))) Edit: Then again, it appears that the Saharan storms are holding up some birds.
Thanks for starting us off Diane. Yay, autumn, I love it. Currently 24 C and it doesn't seem too warm as the nights are dropping to 13/14C and the days take a while to heat up. Next 2 days 31 & 32 - surely summer's last fling. I have been going through various family history folders, culling rubbish & early attempts at the various trees, and typing up what notes seem of use. I have thrown out a huge pile of scrappy paper, replaced by 3 sheets of neatly typed notes. I am resisting the temptation to begin further research while I have 4 more folders to go. While I was at church this am, OH at long last began the first stage of repainting the bathroom. I can't help as I did with the lounge room - apart from making encouraging noises LOL
I watched a program last night "Lizards of Oz". Aussieland has 500 species of lizards. I learnt some interesting things. Shingleback lizards, also known as sleepy lizards, seek out the same mate year after year. Bynoe's geckos have no males. The females have been cloning themselves for 100,000 years!!!!
MOTHERING SUNDAY wishes to all Mothers everywhere - have a good day!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
BRENDAH thanks for info on Swallows.
LYNETTE aaahhh those poor little cubs look so lost, cuddled together without mum.
BRENDA PATRICIAT We have been here since 1995 and never been to the Carrbridge Porridge Championships and I don't think we will be going anytime soon! LOL
Afternoon all,
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY.
Diane : Thanks for starting us off and for the start of spring dates. Nothing like spring here today, wet and cold with temp around 7c.
AQ : 24c would be nice.
Patriciat : Thanks for the pictures of the lasers. Must have been quite a sight.
Lynette : Thanks for the updates on the various nests. I think I will be concentrating on ospreys only soon.
Thanks to everyone else for the chat etc
Today is not a very nice day but we did go out this morning and went to Elton for lunch. There were a few tables booked but we managed to squeeze in before the rush started. Lady P got a nice bunch of flowers delivered this morning sent by various family members and she is going out for a meal this evening.
Latest news is that there was an osprey on the Glaslyn nest this morning at 10:15 so it is all about to start.
Also the 2nd eaglet has hatched at Richmond.
Thanks for new thread Diane. Just scanned through a few pages so thanks all for pictures, captures, links and videos.
Sandra, what an amazing number of Red Kites...fab. Su C, that osprey had a fair struggle to get out of the lake with that fish..twas a biggie! Tiger, great to get the panda link. I hope to see the pandas in August when I go up to Edinburgh for the Fringe festival. Cheers :-)
Chicks being fed at Richmond. Well at least one of them is:
Hello. Thanks to Diane for starting us off again on yet another week, but as has been said, maybe, just maybe, it will be the week that EJ returns - Yay!!
