This Topic has been set up to follow the Spring 2012 migration, and summer activities, of satellite tracked ospreys, excluding Rothes and Tore from Loch Garten, who are followed on this thread.
It replaces this earlier thread, Satellite Tracked Ospreys (non-LG) Aug 2011 - Feb 2012.

Thanks Alan, that's good news. Presumably all will be given names idc. I wonder who these are allotted.

Alan Has Roy Dennis tracked ospreys that he has not published? Ocassionally he mentions tracked birds that I do not recognise or is that him just using something different from what we normally refer to the birds by?
Tiger Signature
Tiger : I remember reading somewhere that he was going to tag 4 more this year. I know that one has been tagged at Balgavies Loch but have not heard about any others. I expect he will let us know in due course.
I'm afraid to say that there may well be some bad news reported on this thread soon.

Oh no. Really hope you aren't suggesting that 09(98) may have come to grief, Sandy :-(

No, he's fine Rachel. In fact we were talking about him just yesterday. Apparently he's missing his bachelor ways and likes to go a wandering at every opportunity he gets! He has been a good father, though, and his two chicks are good and healthy.
Phew! Thank goodness for that at least.

Patily : The Rutland ones are not included in the 4. I quote "We are hoping to tag four new ospreys in the Highlands this year". I assume this is over and above the Loch Garten and LOTL chicks.
Roy was at RW trying to catch and tag a 3 year old male. I'm not certain which one but they didn't manage to catch it anyway.
