Evening all: Phew! Well, dishwasher is doing what it does best; leftovers have been sorted into appropriate containers; daughter and grandson just got back to their place (with two loads of clean laundry and bag of leftovers); granddaughter called from Arizona and sounded a bit sad since they didn't seem to have much going on there (don't get me started!). Dog did his favorite things in the backyard; cat hid under the bed all day; husband did not sneak off. Apple and pumpkin pies still out pending late evening snack! So all in all, a reasonable day. Grandson got on the web looking for a vehicle to buy; we will be helping him, but it's a case of champagne taste on a beer budget! He really liked a couple of "previously owned" Mercedes-Benz. Someone was even advertising two for the price of one - he thought that was a great deal!!! Yeah, right kid. Try looking for an old Honda or Toyota.
OG: Hope cleaner continues to impress; let us know how son's job interview went. Enjoy Edinburgh - I'm sure grandsons and girlfriend will appreciate being taken out to dinner. Were you dividing 7 thousand pound by the 266 people in the LG group? If so, that comes to 26 pound, right, although many people may not be in a position to contribute. The Remains of the Day is intriguing; makes me think Anthony Hopkins did a great job with the character. I read The Virgin Suicides, then rented the DVD and thought they did a very good job with the movie. It can work both ways though. Backyard chickens are popular here as people become more interested in producing their own food, but residents can't have roosters within the city limits. We have an organic farm up the road which has been there for eons and which has roosters; a new (small) development went in just north of it and now the homeowners are complaining about the racket. Not sure how that's working out.
Lindybird: How nice that you're involved in all those lovely musical events that take place around this time of year. I hope they give the performers as much pleasure as they do the audiences!

I once listed a whole lot of 'musical events' in a reply to Gary, I think it was, but they were things which stretched out over the whole year! This Christmas, just have a Brass Band Concert & Carol Service to go to, & a couple of concerts at the big Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, which is a lovely modern venue (if you can get parked - don't get me started on that!)
Off now as very busy day- at least the sun is shining at the moment on Lindybird Towers!!!!
Annette, sounds a lovely day and well done hubby for NOT sneaking off LOL. Sounds like all the food went down well and the pies.... We only managed the roast dinner and are going to try and do justice to our crumble today. You are such good grandparents, helping out the kids with cars etc. Sounds like grandson needs to be nudged in the sensible direction. However I remember when I was young!! Sorry about grand daughter, that must be tough but as you said, lets not get started on that!
We had a lovely day but today it is raining and grim and I don't think I can escape "helping" with the Xmas cards :(( Still, we did get our xmas tree up from the basement yesterday (just as it is easier with two-it is an artificial pre-lit one) so plugged it in and it looks lovely!!
Lindybird (like "Lindybird Towers LOL) that sounds nice, all the musical stuff. I do remember you listing tons of stuff and thinking WOW. It is a busy time of year for that

It is another nice day on TI. Almost the end of November and still no frost here although last night the temperature did get down to 2.7c.
Just been watching some of the videos I captured from the nest camera at LG. I had forgotten some of the wonderful close ups of M & G.
Off to take Hamish out for his walk while the sun is still shining.

Morning all: Quiet on here this morning. Ate more pie last night, AND more ham and cheese and Hubby and I split the remains of the nice Chardonnay we had earlier.
Lindybird: Lindybird Towers indeed! Are you Sybil? My former house in Long Beach was old and leaned in various directions (walls were never straight; floor in living room had a definite slope in one part). I used to call it Wonky Corners.
Gary: Must confess our tree is a plug-in; vowed I'd never have one but once the grandkids were grown.... Ours is small and has those fibre-optic lights in the "needles" which cast very pretty lights when the base rotates (drives the cat wild).

I can't get anything done for watching webcams - buzzards on New Forest Carcass-Cam ... saw hummingbirds being fed and it looks like feeding time for the barn owls in Devon as they are looking very perky at the moment!! Perhaps I'll do the dusting later :))

I have also been watching the buzzards on carcass cam and the hummingbirds but I did manage to cut the grass earlier. Cant believe still cutting the grass this late.
Hi Alan - this is very late cutting the grass - was Hamish helping? I don't have any grass, just loads of pots and tubs! Been a lovely day today, but very cold & I think we are forecast a frost for tonight - I don't mind as long as it doesn't stay frosty all day!
Hamish always helps when cutting the grass. He loves to roll on his back on the bit that has been cut. Same sort of day here and we may have our first proper frost tonight.

DjoanS, it is easy to loose yourself with the webcams. The dusting can ALWAYS wait!!
Annette, I've seen those trees and they look fun. Our's is a little more "traditional" but, I think, looks OK.
