Hallo folks. Not much action yesterday afternoon on last week's chat, though SueC quoted a poem by the Wolof fishermen of Senegal about ospreys, which I found reassuring.
Thanks JSB. I have just tried but it says the content isn't working. It maybe my location but will try again a bit later.
Hope everyone has had a good Saturday. Some great rugby results, apart from us English!
Patricat, that is dedication.!
Wet Room Update: after posting last night, I saw another error! Insuffucient room between toilet cabinet and basin cabinet to fit the pivoted support rail! I asked the joiner in the afternoon if he was sure he had measured it right, but at that stage couldn't get in the room. Walked in last night, stood straight in front of it,and straighway knew it was wrong. OH tried to place the rail - space was enough for the fixing plate but not for the actual pivot!!!! Sat down there and then and made a list of progress so far (or lack of), still to be done and items to be rectified - guess which is the longest part of the list! Phoned this morning, and the designer has promised to come Monday at 9:00am before anyone tries to do anything. Thanks, everyone, for your kind comments, they are really helpful, as is being able to shut the door which had been off for about three and a half weeks.
Wet weather update: Stayed dry yesterday and overnight, but local flooding has had nowhere to go due to saturation - our harbour area "Port Street" is flooded by the River Annan, as is the riverside park "The Everholm". Drove to Dumfries this afternoon in heavy but not stormy rain. Fields are lakes and water is overflowing onto the road in places - but people seem to be driving very carefully. Could see across to the "Low Road" which looked flooded (local paper had said it was closed yesterday). The Nith in Dumfries, as well as the much reported flooding of the "Whitesands" in town, is across a huge area just outside the town, around the bypass. Just read on news website that some silly numpty had to be rescued from halfway up or down a cliff the other side of Dumfries - stormy weather meant she couldn't be rescued from land, so they had to bring in a helicopter!!
New car update: successfully ordered - delivery by 10th February, could be a month less.
Birds: it was good to see the usual visitors return in the dry weather today - nothing unusual.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
On this blog we have had all sorts of weather reported, but, no icebergs! That was until now...........
