Weekly Chat, Sunday November 8

Hi all. Just got this started before zipping off to bluegrass concert. Check out the previous blog for nifty photos of alpacas from OG and more!

  • Good Night/Morning!

Ooh, I love Hitchcock, Annette! One of our local stations reruns both his half hour and hour long television series and I try be sure and not miss it.

O.G. You didn't miss anything, I use the Norse weekday names just because it's kind of a fun thing to know.

Did anyone see the Evening Express story about the Long-eared Owl that made a stopover on the Marathon Oil Rig near to Aberdeen? What a beautiful bird!

  • Friday all! Again a grey morning (9.25am) here temp -2C. Don't`t know if the "sub-zeros" are here to stay, or will it still get a bit warmer for a while. Time will tell. What a heatwave in Australia, phew, I`m not sure if I could survive such heat.

Gary, that "Afghanistan Lab" is quite famous, his story was in our main newspaper this morning!

Margobird, how was the eye specialist visit? Hopefully good news.

OG & Annette, I`m puzzled why an earth the tilers etc can`t do their job properly in the first time!

Caerann, happy Fredag! (don`t know if this is Norse, but it`s Swedish and those two languages are much alike)

And everybody else who I missed: have good day!

  • Morning auntie you are having low temperatures.  Weather here very grey with the promise of 50--60 mile an hour winds.  We had torrential rain yesterday afternoon and evening and we are going to get it later today as well accompanied by those high winds which I hate.

Fraiday 13 and I can't believe it I have just fallen over in the garden again, had my wellies on and was sweeping up my bird patio and it must have been a bit greasy as over I went.  Fortunately I didn't hurt myself just my pride.  Nort having much luck staying upright at the moment.

Visit to eye specialist went well and I have been discharged.  Just have to watch out for any unusual moles etc.  Been quite a year because since March I have had 6 skin cancers removed from my forehead.  Just one more check up at another hospital in tne New Year for the last one that was removed and hopefully that will be it.

Have a good day and keep warm.

  • Lovelly story about the black lab being found after such a long time.

We have had an awful lot of rain this week and yesterday afternoon and evening it was torrential.  For all this my sparrows love to bath together with the starlings who have reappeared in my garden after a long absence.

  • Stunning picture Lindybird.

  • dibnlib sorry about your tooth, same thing has happened to me.  I think my teeth (all my own) can't cope with toffees any more.  Hope it doesn't give you any pain.

  • Hello Annette loved your silly spell as you put it.  I have just fallen over in the garden again (well it is Friday 13), fortunately no damage done this time, but my pride is taking a bit of a battering.  Perhaps I should fill my garden up with inflatables.

    Margobird

  • Gary  anazing story.  They must have been overjoyed to get her back.

Hope you are not feeling too bad.

  • OG watch out what the council is going to do about the speeding as I live near a school and the council decided to put in speed bumps to slow down traffic and now before I can get to the main road I have to negociate 6 speed bumps which don't do your car much good. When my car went for its MOT last month it was found to have a broken spring and the mechanic said that they were getting a lot of this now because of the speed bumps.

The weather here today is a little cold but the sky is blue and the sun is shinning but we are supposed to have rain and gales later might take a trip out in the afternoon and get the fresh air and try out my new camera.
