HAPPY NEW WEEK!
News for This Week: Scientists can change the past!
You MUST look at this! Scientists are developing a "time cloak" that could change the past. Seriously! The "time cloak" hides an event in time, making it seem like it never actually happened.
It's called "temporal cloaking", and it makes an event disappear by sending it into a "time hole" where the observer can't see it. It's like cutting a few frames out of a movie and splicing the film back together without them. A first demonstration of a time cloak recently took place at Cornell University, U.S. Now, that is spooky. The full explanation is HERE. You can see a video animation HERE.

The Russian spacecraft Phobos-Grunt was launched on 8 November but failed to boost itself out of Earth's orbit, and whatever remains of the big fella is expected to crash back to Earth today (Sunday). The Russian government predicts the crash time to be:
21:51 GMT 9:51 p.m. U.K.4:51 p.m. EST U.S.3:51 p.m. CST U.S.1:51 p.m. PST U.S.
They believe that the fragments may fall into the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Chile. Phobus-Grunt is carrying 11 tons of very toxic propellent. Experts predict that the fuel tanks will create a massive explosion high above Earth, releasing the fuel to burn up in Earth's atmosphere. The vaporized fuel will re-condense into small particles that may remain in the upper atmosphere. The material is said to be "exotic", and it's unclear how it will continue to affect the chemistry in that region of the atmosphere.
The spacecraft was also carrying a module containing a set of live micro-organisms. The bio-module was designed to survive re-entry, and it's not clear where all the little critters will end up! I figure they'll be transformed into mutant aliens!!!!!
Everyone have a good week!!!
Horrible weather – some lovely sunshine between whiles, but some windy blasts with rain like little needles! Saturday is my no-cooking day, but I baked a couple of cakes this afternoon. Normal Sunday evening service resumes tomorrow, and J is playing, so hearing the “sweet” sound of guitar and voice right now!
Joan – a lovely card for Lynette. I hope your OH is less sore today, and even better tomorrow.
Heather – two big celebrations in two days – maybe you are changing into a party person after all! The Diamond Wedding sounds great – and good that the couple are in good enough health to take an active part in the party! I looked up the words of the recitation – lots of verses! At Grandson’s wedding, they began with Scottish Country Dancing, but some dancers got rather carried away and forgot there were guests also on the floor and became rather competitive and dangerous with their Ceilidh dancing!
Mary – as mentioned in my earlier post, I have been feeling well today! Pleased you have chosen the place for Muffin’s ashes, where you can remember her in happier times – I hope you find the urn you are looking for – I guess the pet crematorium could provide an extra one.
Alan - Aurora is a truly wonderful sight! Thank you.
Linda – we have pork tomorrow – but no Ch******* Pudding – just the usual fruit and yoghourt! So pleased you have Goldfinch numbers too, ours were back today – but they were not very pleased with the windy weather when it rattled the bin! Our earlier wills were over 10 years old, and it was also best to be sure we have Scottish ones (after living here nine years!) Pleased you are having Custard rather than Brandy Butter!
Thanks for all posts, even when I don’t reply! Just had to go and be music consultant for J for a few minutes! Now going to cut my cakes into portions to freeze most of them. “See” you tomorrow.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Happy Birthday to Lynette (before I forget). Hope you have had a wonderful day!
Patriciat: Our expected 5 inches of snow turned out to be only 4 and it was a dry snowthat was easy to shovel and sweep. I have always liked winter, but I must admitwith 2 wheelchairs in the family now it would be easier if it never snowed atall. LOL.
Mary: I’m glad that your neighbor allowed youto have some closure with the passing of Muffin. It helps with the grieving process.
OG and Margo and Lynette: glad you are all on the mend. Hope it continues.
Terry: sorry that Willow hasn’t turned up. I know what a worry it has been.
Diane: I have a red-tailed hawk that visits mybackyard frequently but I’m afraid his/her motives are more sinister…since Ifeed the birds, squirrels, raccoons and any stray cats that are about I’mpretty sure he/she is looking for a meal. I go out and talk to him and he hasthe smallest cheep for a bird that size. Sounds like a parakeet, but he’sgorgeous! I just would rather he found his meal at another location.
AQ: a beautiful baby with an infectious smile!
Alan: thanks for the aurora link. Looks like a great website.
Sorry if I have missed anyone but I love all the posts!

Hi Brenda, I'm fine, thanks for asking. I'm just taking my usual winter break from spending too much time on the internet.
I still pop in from time to time to make sure I don't miss too much!
STARTING NEW THREAD! HERE
OG yes, my friends still take part, though they are in transition to racing with their Scandanavian Hounds and as they are not officially sled dogs they are not allowed to race at Aviemore with them. They still have their Huskies as they are pets as well as racing dogs (this is not always the case as some people sell their dogs on if they no longer race them).Charles said they will race the Huskies this year if it will be sleds on snow, but do not know what the final decision was. He is Chairman of the Scottish Sled Dog Association and it involves a lot of hard work and precious little thanks by the sound of things.
MARY Thinking of you - I remember how I felt when picking up Fingals ashes. I knew I wanted to scatter them but it took us 6 months before I could finally let them go. As far as I am concerned he lives on at Loch an Eilean and the burn there sparkles with his joy. Eventually Dillon will join him as will OH and I. Sadly Goldie no 1 was put to sleep in Shetland so we had no options there.
