Dunedin male:
Keith : The last I heard they were hoping to have it up and running by the end of the week but that was last week.
MNSA Snow craft ospreys have 2 eggs and something that looks like a mobile phone on the nest?
I don't think Balgavies, near Forfar, has been mentioned on this thread.....it now is 'publicised' by the Kirriemuir newspaper. As follows....a bit of bother with geese, or ospreys depending whose side one takes. (The only Balgavies I know is Balgavies Avenue in Dundee.)

jsb : Thanks for that story. I seem to remember Balgavies Avenue as well in Dundee. There were a lot of street names that began with 'Bal'. I lived in a tenement in Baldovan Terrace for the first few years of my life.
It looks a wonderful place for ospreys to nest. Maybe later in the year a second nest could be started on the island, so that the ospreys could take that if the geese have already laid in the first one next season. However, chances are that a second pair of geese would decide it was a des res!
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.

Latest on the Lake District webcam:
"Over the winter 2011/12 we have upgraded our nest cameras to give better images. However getting these images from the new cameras onto the web is going to be more challenging than we thought as the new cameras and the weblink run different systems.
A Big thanks to Adam Flett from the BBC for taking up the challenge, hopefully we will get the images working soon."
ALAN - Love is in the air off ther nest too at Lochter. Just gone down and captured this after work.
The nest is on the outskirts of my town.
I spent an hour with them tonight and they preferred the camera tree.
That's a great photo Keith, but what a strange place to mate! Surely the female has trouble with her talons on that camera!

I am back in the North for the weekend, so I will take my camera to see if the nest near where I am has Ospreys back. I believe it belongs to the lady who was chased by ducks last year!!!! If I get any good photos will post them up tomorow night.
