Dunedin male:
Third egg in Estonia:
IMAGICAT
Great news about third egg (Estonia). Thank you Scylla. Hope both birds settle down and stop being so scatty. Also thank you Scylla for all your input. I do enjoy watching your video's etc also Moffer and all the other clever people who understan how to do the technical stuff. Again many thanks.

She was unringed, so no definite ID. But we do know he has accepted her, whereas he has chased other females off the Threave nest!
Pleased she has come, as this may be only successful nest in Dumfries and Galloway because Caerlaverock female abandonned her eggs this morning in very cold wind. I phoned the Centre and they say she was being harrassed by several intruders and (new) male wasn't around to protect her every time it happens. They hope she might try a second brood - if she realises these eggs have got too cold. They reckon it would not be too late (and this applies to Threave too) because of our Solway climate and abundance of fish.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Does anyone know the date of the first egg at Smith Mountain Lake, 8/4 is in my mind but I am not positive.
Looking at the website, i don't know when it was laid
but they are expecting the 1st hatching any time now,

Yes there should be a hatching on Tuesday or Wednesday. EJ laid a day later but usually only takes 36 days of incubation whereas most ospreys take 37 ot 38 days for a first egg.
So it is a real race to see which egg hatches first.
