PS would forum users prefer it if we had a separate peregrine thread?

If you're offering to start one, I think that would be a good idea, as there seems to be a lot of interest in the peregrine webcams.
Posting peregrine observations in this thread/forum means that only members of the Loch Garten Group can respond, which seems unnecessarily exclusive as it's not about LG or ospreys.
The best place to put it would be here in the Wildlife forum. I already have a thread running on Chichester peregrines there.

[/quote]Duly done but must find out how to to smart links!

  • Carol  You will find instruction and a place to practice on the Technical Test thread

  • Such sad news I have not looked in this week as I find it so hard to watch.  The weather has really made it difficult for the peregrines and no doubt other birds too are suffering.

  • Looks like incubating going on in Latvia:

  • Thats some nest Alan. Mine is miniscule in comparison.

The nest before it blew down in September 2010 was massive-maybe thats why it blew down -but since we rebuilt in March 2011 XL & M have added very little to increase actual depth & width. It is very strong i know as when we put up the nest cam it took weight of person sitting in it.

We had a 2nd egg yesterday & all is well :)

    Thanks for all updates

  •   the 3rd chick at Char X  doesn't look likely to make it, I think .I thought it wasn't going to survive on Saturday but it rallied on Sunday and yesterday and even took a little food Yesterday it did have a piece that it was having difficulty swallowing and before he could finish doing so, Charlie tucked them all underf her  This morning it is flat out again, a distance from the other 2 which are being fed

  • Valc : Congrats on 2nd egg at your nest. Glad all is going well. The nests need to be strong to withstand some of the bad weather we have been having lately. I notice part of the Glaslyn nest was damaged in gale force winds at the weekend but the female sat tight and all appears to be well.

Estonia nest 1. 2 birds there again today and tree is swaying in the wind:
