Tiger is back in north London tonight and so can start threads again. Having been to the home of ospreys everything takes on much more meaning.
Tore reaches 72 days today. Rothes migrated at 79 days so the end may be quite close. However I hasten to add that other chicks have hung on for as long as 97 days in recent times.

He is such a character too :-) Here he is giving up on the fish - a bird, probably EJ, flies past a couple of times and Bynack flies off; shortly after, EJ comes in to take over.
And she's still there, stood standing stock still on the nest, hours later!!! You will all be relieved to hear that I won't be posting the videos - I'd have to chop them into many pieces to comply with YouTube's restrictions ;-)
Have just read the last few posts of the night and see that a new thread has been started for tomorrow, so I'll post the pic of EJ which corresponds to June's post mentioning 1.40am, as a tribute to her:
IMAGICAT
Well if she stays long enough she will be ready to fed them breakfast .
Birds and animals are very careful not to waste food. Too bad humans are not as frugal
Formerly known as Barbara Jean
Yes, Barbara. Our eldest daughter works in waste management and has tales to tell!
At 1:40 am Sun EJ is still standing in the same spot. This reminds me of another night she stood watch. On Aug 11, 2009 we were expecting the family to start migration at any time, especially EJ who often goes first. On this day, she had fed Mallachie and then Garten, then stood with remainder of the fish far into the night. Many said she was waiting to feed Rothes, her way of saying goodbye to her three daughters. Unbeknownst to us at the time Rothes has already started her journey south. CIRRUS wrote a wondeful poem, which I have kept. This was a very emotional time for many of us. This of course is the same Rothes who has recently been identified by photo in France, where she is at the present time.
