LG OSPREY GABFEST

July21, Thursday 9:06 p.m Ohio USA; Friday 2:o6 am UK

BRIGHT & BREEZY, as you see I am acting on your suggestion to update THE GABFEST thread.   Btw, earlier I switched back to the cam to check out the noise you talked about, but by the time I got there all was quiet, as it is now at an empty nest.  Now, at 2:37 I hear a cheep that does not sound like an osprey on the nest.  Also another bird sound that I cannot describe.
SUNSHINE<  I too like it here at THE GABFEST.   I feel a freedom here that I never did on the main blog.  I felt there like my comments always turned out too long & if I wanted to vere off onto another topic I didn't feel I should do that.  Here, who cares?   I do hope we can keep the GABFEST going,  but there is no point in keeping it open if no one else is interested just to  talk to myself.  .  If the three of us keep it open, maybe eventually others will find & join us to chat about what interests them.

  • Just checked the new thread, the Osprey pics are great, and the heather looks lovely.

  • I once dated a girl called heather - she was lovely as well   lol

Hope all our colonial cousins are ok - that Irene is one mother of a storm.

  • Hi Tricky, yes friends ok so far, hope your Mother knew about Heather!!

  • B&B  I  have a friend whole lives near York. I go to see him twice a year. On my first visit he took me on one of the many ghost walks.

  • Tiger I have never been on a ghost walk but it used to start at a pub, the Golden Fleece  opposite M&S. Dick Turpin a legend in York also.

Have you been to whipmawopmagate shocking I spelt it incorrectly. Do you know some things you take as normal, now I am away and never even tried to spell it. That was a place where people were whipped and had to choose a location. The shortest street in York. At the bottom of colliergate and the shambles and not very far for them to be whipped. Maybe 10 yards at the most. Tiger you are the walking encylopedia and you will tell me exactly how long the street is :) York is full of history.

Actually I do have a selective memory that is my excuse but I do remember you getting your camera back out of the hire care

    oh dear edit again

  • that is my third time of spelling that street and still wrong. oh the edit button still does not help me

  • There you are.

No I was not aware of that. I have stayed in the Galtres Lodge Hotel in Low Petergate before now. I like the walls of York and York Minster.

  • B & B - Whip ma whop ma gate

The longest street name in York but the shortest street.

Careful do not let on to all the male bloggers what they did there - they may all be queueing up - LOL. Well done with the spelling you must have remembered the place well sure you were not going down doing the punishments - LOL. You only dropped the H at whop and yorkshire people always drop a H or so my wife says - She says my family never pronounce a H including me.

York is a lovely place what took you to Glasgow.

As I have said before I was born and bred in North Yorkshire on the edge of the N Yorkshire moors but left home just 16 and a few days to seek my fortune in Glasgow - I had a 10 shilling note in my pocket and nothing else. It worked out though I got my fortune and married my Bank Managers Daughter. It our anniversary tomorrow.

He was manager of the branch at Tollcross then Bishop Briggs - you may know these areas.

June have been watching Fox throughout the day - Even though this storm has been downgraded to Cat 1 it is still intensive especially following up the populated Eastern Seaboard. I think when Wilma hit us it was a Cat 5 - 2005 was a record breaking season. Trust all come out of this unscared. We do also like the ocean and travel from our home in Lake Beuna Vista mainly to the Gulf Coast. My wife likes Naples and The Keys.

Care to you all - I do enjoy coming on to this blog.
