Hallo all. It's a brand new week!

  • For fans of Scotland, in the UK, 'Scotland Revealed', features Scottish scenery in the Central Lowlands. More programmes to come, two I think, so bound to be pictures of the Highlands and Islands, in due course. It is in HD so it will need a good broadband connection. Also for those 'offshore' like Annette and Diane, it would be great if you can see this, because it may be blocked, outside the UK. Do please let me know, if you can get the pictures. It lasts one hour, on STV, Scottish Television, on their new STV Player.

  • Thanks for the snow report aunite.  keep us updated, I'll do the same!! (what am I doing, talking about snow!)

Lindybird, your life sounds as glamorous as mine LOL

Thanks for the tip about the programme. I won't get it out here and I am very slow in catching on trying to watch TV on my computer. Old habits die hard with me.

Annette, have a great brunch today and try not to sit next to your grand daughters boyfriend so you aren't tempted to give him your "advice" LOL

  • I just noticed although the programme on tv was one hour, this web version is in four sub-episodes of 14,8,13 and 10 minutes. Presumably the commercial breaks have been edited out. The four parts are shown on the right of the screen. Happy viewing.

  • Thanks JSB.

Just checked it out and I can get the programme but I only have a DSL connection so not fast enough for the HD version. I will enjoy the "standard" version though. Saw the first minute or so and I'm hooked

I love HD programming though, once you watch a lot in that it is difficult to go back!

  • jsb:   Thank you for taking the time. Reply posted (at second attempt!) on "your" page.

Gary, Diane and Sylviamac:   Your kind comments are appreciated.  Thank you

Had a lovely morning with friends.  They picked me up in their car and went to local botanic gardens and arboretum for lunch. I expected to see loads of birds but only managed one hungry robin insisting on being fed, but when I got home I had a pair of pretty jays, two collared doves about a dozen roving pheasants and my usual garden visitors on the feeders in my apple tree.  No pear tree so no partridge!  I could hear buzzards "peeooo-ing" above the hill at the back but couldn't see them.  Lesson learned: stay home and let the birds come to me.

  • Morning all.

jsb: Will check out TV program later when back from brunch. Haven't checked GE lately either.....

Gary: Granddaughter's boyfriend still in AZ; I don't give him too much advice; he's 26 and a former US Marine back from Iraq - with all the baggage that implies. He comes under the "encouragement" subhead. Grandson comes under "advice," with great potential for refiling under "ultimatums" column. :-))

Auntie: Thanks for info - how beautiful it is there.

Off to prod hubby into action and leap in shower.

  • Good morning Annette! I am a bit confused, is it Sunday morning there (or Monday)? And yes, the Archipelago sea is considered to be extremely beautiful and one of a kind in the world. The eyrie is located in one of the islands there. There is The Archipelago Research Institute and the area is kind of closed, so no extra harrasing in the surroundings. I think the nest is located in some kind of tower that has something to do whith the boattraffic. It is not a artifical nest, but the ospreys have built it themselves. During the winter the seaeagles have also used it. This spring there was some fighting between the eagles and female osprey, but the seaeaglepair is still young and didn´t have any eggs yet, so the osprey won. What will happen next spring is to be seen. Sorry about the long babble...

  • JSB : Thanks for the info on the program Scotland revealed. I especially liked part 4 as I have climbed to the top of the Wallace monument at Stirling.

The two battles mentioned at Stirling Bridge and Bannockburn were great tactical victories for us over the English.
