So Bynack reached day 53 and still has not fledged. But then only two chicks in the last ten years have fledged in less than 53 days. So it seems as if he is just being a normal Loch Garten osprey.

Thank you TIGER for starting the new thread!! What do I know but I'm gunna stick my neck out and say Bynack will go any second! Well, not right now in the middle of the night, but he is so ready to be out there - just like the rest of his family. Today WILL be the day!! Watch this space ....
It is good to be bold. Nite Hazel!
Nite Tiger!
Goodnight everyone. I can't stay awake any longer! Bynack is all alone on the nest; contemplating today's big event ....
Oh! Well I'll have to keep Bynack company then :-*
Robert, I would love to know all the techie stuff about how you chop/convert/whatever your 3-hour video :-)
IMAGICAT
I'm really terrified because something's making a prolonged rattling noise as if putting up a ladder (worst-case scenario immediately springs to mind of course!) with difficulty, it's sounds quite near the microphone. EJ has come onto the nest and is spreading her wings over Bynack, who seems to be sleeping soundly.
It must be a creature, but my heart was in my mouth for a while.
What a mother EJ is! She's back, she's not happy at all!!!
I'll have a video in a minute.
I just saw EJ standing on the nest too. Bynack is peacefully sleeping through what ever brought her to the nest. Not much gets past EJ !!
Formerly known as Barbara Jean
Here she is guarding the nest
EJ's first visit - I had heard her fly in as I came in the room with a cuppa, by the time VLC kicked in she was ready to fly out again, giving an alarm call. But wait, she comes back and spreads her wings and you will hear the noise I referred to.
EDIT - I've cut off the few empty minutes at the beginning, this is the revised version.
Just heard the noise briefly again.
