So we reach Day 49 for Tore today. The fledging window is well and truly open. Will she fledge today? Not that likely but in the next three or four days she might. How did she grow up so quickly?
Tiger Signature
What a wonderful day we've been privileged to share! :-* The family breakfast, and now the chicks' first self-feeding.
I posted a video this morning of Tore practising fish-filleting on grass, she'd been watching EJ closely for a moment or two and then deliberately started tearing at the grass as if it were a fish.
Should we be worried about what appears to be twine lying across the nest?
CIRRUS, don't tell me about YouTube problems, have been having a heckuva time with it. CC uses Photobucket, I'm wondering whether to give it a try.
CC, would you mind disclosing what software you use for recording the boids? ;-) I'm always looking for quicker/better. Cirrus and I use VLC.
Apart from the catatonic forum, oh! what a wonderful day :-*
IMAGICAT
Came back to discover I have missed all the excitement. Well, thanks to you all, I haven't really missed it but you know what I mean! Not had a chance to watch the videos yet but the pics are great. Have been watching them both helicoptering and was sure Tore was going to go! Maybe tomorrow.
... a wonderful day enhanced, I should say, by the happy noises coming from the nest and nearby :-)
They sound like really proud parents, don't you think?
Can you post to the thread then Scylla ? if you do use photobucket. Wish I'd caught the very first of Odin arriving with the fish.
I think what looks like wire is two separate twigs Scylla . Alls well.
Lindy, you've spoiled us with some super pics from the STILL. Thank you.
What a day, simply marvellous. Someone tell EJ she's wasting her time !! Odiin will bring in breakfast and watch mega hungry Tweens have another tug o war LoL
Thanks everyone for great captures and clips. Don't think it can be long now before Tore is off on her maiden flight.

I've been away for a minute or two- don't think that's twine on the nest, just an illusion. Enjoyed other folks pics, too, Cirrus! - yours have a wonderful colour to them, from the Carnyx cam.

She has not done the "gaze to the ground" yet.
It's only a matter of time Tiger. Some take us by surprise and others take their time. We will never forget Flag's fledge will we, or that look on Stripe's face :)
