Tiger Signature
Just heard back from Julie. She is going to try and put the pics on here. Says she hasn't had much success posting pics on here so will wish her luck! I have offered that we will try if she doesn't manage.
ChloeB & Tiger's Osprey Data
Scylla, the video of EJ landing and rearranging the moss is lovely. Thanks.
Chloe, I read your fantastic story of Mozzie last night and was too tired to reply to it then. I really admire your persistence and ingenuity. All the blackbirds our cat caught and we tried to rescue never survived.
EJ is off to the r.h.s. of nest and has been giving Odin a right ear bashing for the last while! Think she is asking him (not very politely) to organise some supper but he is obviously not obliging!!
Thanks Daisy Ray, glad you enjoyed it. I knew that Mozzie was in with a chance only if she survived the first few nights, especially the first. Shock can be a great killer of birds even if they are not obviously injured. Had my cat not dropped her in the hall but had hung on to her I would have been tempted to leave her to her fate but as it was I was faced with this young, seemingly uninjured, blackbird looking up at me. The decision was instant and you know the rest :)
The power of eye contact, Chloe.
Perhaps that is why we are all so engaged with these birds - they make eye contact with us through the camera lens.
Here was Julie's picture of EJ on guard. See EJ on guard.
Hey give Julie a chance to post them :)
BTW I asked Julie and the number 48 came to hand first when Tore was given her ring. No other reason.
