A new day begins and fledging draws ever closer. Star reaches day 40 today and Storm 35
An idyllic scene on the nest with both chicks preening.

Oh she's now in view.

They better hurry and get the plans for the ringing ready!! . Star was doing a little "take off jump" as it beat it's wings. Next step is helicoptering. Then off they go . At this rate Star will fledge by next week
EDIT: Wow Now Star is practicing standing on one foot. Hasn't got it perfected yet , but each time it tries it holds it a little longer before it has to put it down for balance

Poor little Storm is dominated and sat upon by fiersomely strong Star.
This was supposed to be an illustration of how big Star looks compared to EJ - she decided to have a good flap just as I hit 'snip'!
EDIT: forecast for the rest of the week looks good for ringing - probably just as well.
More of Star being advanced.
I have to shut down for a while - I bet I'll miss a fish delivery >:(
A lovely tranquil scene on the nest - GEMs snoozing head to tail in the sun, EJ standing off to the side; something piping away in the background. Still no fish, but they don't seem too bothered just now.
Time I was heading off to work: as always, looking forward to checking in at lunchtime - thanks in advance to the day shift.
EDIT: I hit 'post' and EJ instantly woke up and started shouting. FISH #1, 07:57

Well captured, Joan! Odin never stays around long enough for me to snap him.
Morning all ... I just logged on to hear EJ heralding the arrival of a fish ... and then my mouse froze! Mad dash for new batteries and just caught Odin before he flew off. GEMs feeding in the morning sunshine.
EDIT - Hi Rachel! Off to read the overnight reports now.
