All quiet on the nest:
Not a lot changed on the nest since Lynette's pic - except night cam on. Another great video from 'Scylla Productions' :) thank you. I'm going to have to turn in now, have to go into the office tomorrow :( I shall miss this.
For Cirrus: 6 Fish :)))))) There is a report on page 7 (that was up to fish #5) and fish #6 was delivered at 1952. Goodnight all. Happy viewing!
You just caught them before the night cam came on, Lynette :) Such a lovely picture of serenity.
I've been checking the EJ thread to try to find out about her name but a lot of the links there are broken :( I mentally call her Elizabeth Jane, lord knows why - well, it does sound quite aristocratic.
Dear Alex, I bet I should have known you're a lady, thank you for being nice about it :-* (There, you got a kiss - a man wouldn't have ;) )
Goodnight, Hazel, sweet dreams :-*
Heron, for years we've had a wood-pigeon couple visiting our garden, they must nest very near-by - but since I've been throwing seeds out for them the ferals have joined in. What a haven for birds your garden must be :)
IMAGICAT
Hi scylla :-) We get a good number of Feral Pigeons visiting our garden. The funny thing about these birds is how very healthy they all look. Often when I see pigeons in places such as the centre of Glasgow, or in the centre of Coatbridge (two locations very near me), they seem to look a wee bit scruffy. I've also noticed that the Doos (that's a Scots term for Feral Pigeons) that visit my garden don't seem to have any leg rings, so they can't belong to any Pigeon Fanciers. Speaking of which, there was few people who kept Pigeons in our area when I was a child but they've all given up now. I wonder if the beautiful birds who visit me are the descendants of those Doos from many years ago.
I think we're lucky in terms of the amount and variety of birds we get because we are close to woodland. Also the area our house is in, is on what used to be farmland (built on c1947). I'm sure I once heard one of the Starlings imperssonating a Yellowhammer!!! :-) Amazing what they pass down the generations :-) The only word I can find to describe it all is: Ospreytastic!
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
I wonder if someone's sneakily started a new thread, just to lose me? ;-D
scylla EJ is named for the EJ on her leg ring. They had a contest to chose a name and the most votes were for EJ
Formerly known as Barbara Jean
Hello, Barbara Jean, and thanks for the info. How unromantic :(
Do try to have a look at the video of Storm playing with a ball - it's only short - short 'n sweet ;)
I watched it thank you !! Storm is more curious as to what is on the nest than what is beyond it. It may be a late fledger . Star just kept looking at Storm with no interest in joining in.
For a more formal name think if her as Ejay
