Evening all:
Cirrus had a question in the last post of yesterday's thread:
How do I delete space returns anyone please??? I've tried without success (it's hard to see space returns :( )
Cirrus: I'm not quite clear on what you mean by space returns? Where are they and where are they showing up (Word? On this blog?)
I'm sure they must have an instinct for self -preservation, Sadie!
Thanks to Tiger for the great clip of the Dyfi Ospreys, what a hoot - poor Monty!
Sheila: don't forget that Odin was forced to give in to the chicks once, and feed them himself when faced with two demanding little beaks! That was a magic moment for me.
Where's Mum - she's been gone over 20 minutes now !!!

I loved the video Tiger. Thanks! How amazing. Poor chap looked really miffed at being turfed off!! I haven't been following them at all, but am I right in thinking they are first time parents, which makes it even more surprising. But 'our' Odin is a superb fisherbird, which is probably more important! My hero!
EJ seems to have been off the nest for a while again. I can only guess she is again i the camera tree.
Off topic - a jay is at my ground feeder. Not sure whether I approve or not given I have a lot of young birds around.... but he is rather pretty, and is eating my mixed corn will mean he is not after them.

Sheila: They said on Springwatch that the Dyfi pair are 1st time parents - the male is from Rutland. When they 1st hatched the observers were rather worried as the female did not feed them enough, but she seems to have got the hang of it now and they are thriving.
I thought they were home alone for a long time ... but EJ's wing has just appeared on the right!!

I hope so Lindybird - I worry that they get a bit unstable and topple over - still they are getting stronger and stronger every day.
11:04am Still no sign of EJ
Thank goodness for that Joan - I wondered for a minute if she had gone off a'fishin...

Oh yes, I do remember that. Didn't Odin come in when EJ was away, and he didn't quite know what to do next. Hungry chicks more or less told him - hey dad, over here!
Must have just missed her return at 11:06am
