Another new week. I wonder what surprises it will bring?

  • dibnlib I was so sorry to hear about the situation with your mother.  Your brother must be under huge stress dealing with it all, so don't take his comments to heart.  I expect you caught him with the last straw.  I hope that the carer situation can be sorted out sooner rather than later.  It is always difficult dealing with such situations from a distance, as I know only too well because of my aged aunt.  The only way is to keep talking!

  • This is nothing short of incredible. Clearly not everyone knows who Pale Male is. Or even that he is a hawk.

  • Thanks for the update on Margo.  I hope it's dry up there as it's awful here but the garden/allotment need it so mustn't grumble.

  • SHEILA  yes, no doubt bro is under a lot of pressure. his outburst was most uncharacteristic. He and his wife of 27 years parted 18 months ago though have to say she was never any help with Mum. He now lives in the same small village as Mum and luckily has great neighbours who have known both of them for many years (Karen has done Mums hair at home for as long as I can remember) and I know they are a great help to him. Also although my bro spent many years in the computor world (Nimrod simulator) he now works for Alzheimer Scotland and so has good insight into the illness from a professional point of view as well as personal.

  • Sun is still out and I hope that Margo gets to see Loch Garten like this before she goes on night shift.

It does get a bit chilly when sun goes in but that is sorted..layers and food.

  • Just caught up again with everyone's news.

Rosiemac and Heather so pleased you met up with Margobird and that all went well.

Dibnib - I know a little of what you are going through.   My brother coped for at least 2 years on his own with his partner helping out when she could (they do not live together). My mum went downhill fast and it was only after she was admitted to hospital just before Christmas 4 years ago that the full extent of the problem was realised.  We had to make an agonising decision to put her in a home as she was unable to look after herself due to memory loss and other things. So do empathise with you and hope that things can be sorted out for the best, even if it means that she has to go into care.

Alan - thats super of Pale Male.

Rained for most of the day here but I think its stopped now. Looks like the Grand Prix in Canada is virtually rained off, I'm not sure whether it started or not but they were still behind the scenes a few mins ag0.

Brenda - hope OH enjoys playing his Lawn Bowls whenever he gets the chance.  Just love that pic of the sheep and the man.

  • Brrr, it's cold enough here without looking at those wintry pics Tiger  - now feel twice as cold. It's rained all day here and the high of 13 C was somewhere around 4 pm.

Lovely Peonies Lindy - so glad rain hasn't dished in the blooms

Hello Sheila, and welcome back  - may we expect holiday pics?

Wow, it will be a totally new home Lynette, bet you can't wait for it all to be finished

Oh Brenda, what a delightful pic

Trish, I've had cats follow me on walks too, she would gallop ahead and hide in the sugar beet then jump out at us . Walking down the lane going home the swallows kept dive bombing her - we called her Peek-a -boo. She thought I was a cat ! We'd play such games on all the stairs that were in the flat I lived in at that time.

thanks for the link Alan  - I'm beginning to wonder where to put them all     LoL

Thanks Rosiemac for your good care of Margo - I'll look forward to the pics

Welcome home Alicat - hope you had a great holiday and are feeling refreshed

Thanks for your take on events at LG Heather and here's hoping you neighbour will indeed be out and about again soon.

OOooo, lucky you Lindy, a trip on Concorde - nobody has a chance of that now    :(

Mmm a busy day for you dibnlib. I am so so so so sorry to hear about your Mum. It makes one feel helpless when so called  carers gets it so wrong.   Have a laugh, dibnlib - I thought I had done something to get your text  so large. I've been Ctrl/ Z ing like crazy trying to restore the size   :)

Wendy, how super to see so many seals on the sandbank

Tiger , I'm still enjoying the photographs on the link you sent me. Still got lots to go - so absolutely super . I've decided to have a'' several course meal''
of Osprey pics (and hawks, and other birds   :)   ) over the next few days.

  • Hi Dibnlib, yes I caught your messages on the end of last weeks blog, and thank you! In the end we went to Revack to eat because it was I think,  a little nearer to LG. Thank you anyway and I will remember the good fish and chip place for the future!

So sorry to hear about your Mum, its easy for siblings to fall out when both are worried and anxious but I am very glad that you are going to be kept more informed in future.

I hope that you will enjoy your trip to LG and meeting Margo, I hope that she keeps warm tonight. She is one brave lady, to follow her dream and come all the way up here on her own, when usually she is with her devoted OH.

  • HEATHER    glad you had a good time with Margobird. We hope to see her Tues after her am shift. Agree that it is brave of her to follow her dream of visiting the osps on her own.

  • Rose and Heather, Thanks for letting us know about your meet with Margo. I guessed there would be plenty of chatting. Great that you all got on so well 'face to face' and enjoyed a meal together. I am sure Margo was thrilled to meet you both.

Alicat, Look forward to seeing your LG photographs.

Linda, I am very jealous. I always wanted to go on Concorde. We used to see it twice a day, when we lived in Ascot and always looked up and thought what a  majestic plane it was.

Dibnlib, Sorry to hear about your Mum. I can understand why you got so upset. It can't be an easy time for your brother or yourself. Glad you have settled your communication problems between you both.

Wendy, You are so kind, even worrying about Margo when you are not with her. I hope she gets some good weather while she is there and is able to go further afield and explore the area.
