Another new week. I wonder what surprises it will bring?

The place for wildlife on the web is here. Very useful resource.
Who said summer was here? Look at this.
Good Morning All.
Tiger, Those pictures make me feel so cold and it feels cool enough here this morning.
Wendy, Thanks for letting us know about Margo. It was extremely kind of you and Margo must have been so relieved to see you at the airport. Enjoy today with your OH.
Rosiemac and Heather, Have a fantastic 'meet' and meal with Margo. I bet you never stop talking. Then I notice you are meeting Julie Q. Looks like a long day for you all.
Linda, Lovely to see your peonies. We managed just three flowers on one of our plants and just two on the other. Terrible year for our's.
I was going to watch OH play bowls but looking at the forecast, I am not sure if they will play the match, or even if they do, if I will risk going and getting soaked.
Morning All. V'ery light sporadic shower this morning. Hope you tennis lovers are aware that Queen 's final will start at 12.00 today, and not as originally scheduled because of the weather forecast. Thanks for the link for the wildlife forum Tiger. I have 'favourited' it - my list seems to get longer daily!
My, Margo is going to have such a great time, particularly being able to meet up with everyone. I guess she will be on her first night shift tonight!
Heather & Rosiemac have a lovely time with Margo - watch out for those darned midges!!!
Hello Julie Q. It was great to meet you last week.
Lindy I love your peonies. I have sarah bernhardt which is usually quite tall and prolific. Sadly this year it is obviously suffering from our drought and most of the blooms came out when I was away. It was far shorter than usual and not as many heads.
I was beginning to wonder what might be happening down in the aquifer and our water supply from the bore well! I have certainly seen some hoses on farmland - mainly on potatoes. The cereal and rape crops appear to be shorter than usual, but they are not watered. Whether the rain we have seen occasionally over the last week will actually penetrate the ground I don't really know. But, as they say, every little helps.
Having said that, I hope the rain keeps off for you BrendaH as you watch your OH play bowls!
I think my birds have taken umbrage at my being away for two weeks. The feeders are full once more, but they seem to be hiding in the hedgerows, perhaps moulting? I have seen no young pheasant or partridge although the adults are still around, albeit in smaller numbers. Sadly one young GSW hit a window and didn't recover. Parents are still around though. I have only seen one male chaffinch attempt to go in the box my the window (remember the photos of the red legged partridge feeding in it last month? There is still a lot of singing and noise coming from the hedgerow and trees, but it is not always easy to spot who is calling what.
I hope the tennis proves to be an exciting match, and that Murry finds his form again. What a magic match he played yesterday.

Well, we have proper rain now, although the sky is not overall grey. And to cap it all the tennis has rain too, after all the re-arranging the folk there did to avoid it. So much for weather forecasts. They hope to get a window this afternoon, and if not, will play tomorrow at I think midday, on BBC2.
A hare has just loped through the garden and past my window. Lovely. It is obviously not worried by the rain!
Hi folks, finally the right page, inadvertently posted on the Daily Update and had to delete it.
Didn't manage to get on yesterday as was busy sorting dau out with her new bed, and rearranging the room. Also new mattresses etc for our beds. Central heating fully installed now and its so good to have hot water on tap and not wait for the imersion heater to do its job. Carpenter came yesterday to box in the pipes that are on show - much neater now. Friendly builder coming tomorrow to erect new bedroom furniture and put up shelves in various places although he may need an extra day to finish everything off, we'll have to see.
Lindybird - just love those peonies.
Hope Margobird gets there safely and meets up as planned. It will be hard work but hope she enjoys her week at LG.
Weather here is steady rain and grey skies, farmers will love it as they were gagging for the rain. Officially we are in a drought zone.
All looks well at LG, EJ relaxed and preening whilst the two GEMS are doing their own thing.
EJ now settling down with them - they're two big to go under her.

Hi Brenda, see your OH plays bowls - my brother also plays, Crown Green, is yours the flat or crown?
Hi Lynette. OH has not long started playing bowls. He did play when he was at Oxford Uni. but hadn't played since, although they seem to think he is good. They play Lawn (flat) bowls. Today's match has been cancelled because of rain, although the rain hasn't really started yet, but it would be unfair to let the 'away team' travel with no chance of playing the game.
Afternoon all,
The rain has finally arrived here but light and sporadic so far. Cant see this making much difference to the drought. Must check on the price of camels. Is one hump or 2 best?
Linda : Our peonies were out before we went on holiday at the beginning of May. We seemed to have quite a lot of blooms but they are all gone now.
I hope everyone meeting up at LG today has a great time.
We went to Van hage garden centre this morning and bought a begonia and some marigolds. No idea where we are going to put them but it seemed like a good idea at the time. Came back early for the tennis but rained off at the moment.
Thanks for all the earlier chat ad hope everyone has agood day.
It's amazing that as a result of this blog Margo is going to meet quite a few people and it will make her week all the more enjoyable.
Rosiemac and Heather I hope you've had a great time meeting up with her.
Walked with Mia this morning and now it's raining. Think I'll do some baking now, then ironing then watch the Grand Prix.
