Weekly Chat, Saturday September 5, 2009

Morning; late nigiht here, just about to crash.

AQ/Teresa: See response to yours on the previous Weekly Chat. Thanks!

Hope you're all staying dry.

  • Glad you got it sorted, Cirrus. I'm no help with techie things, can only commiserate.

NEW BLOG ON DIARY PAGE NOW, from lots of the Team LG, if you havn't seen it yet, folks.

  • Lindybird: On the ball again. I bet not much gets by you!  Kinda sad to see the "goodbyes" from the crew. Wonder how often they'll be updating the Diary - time will tell.

Cirrus: Glad one thing is sorted out. Try this: Control Panel -Performance and Maintenance -Power Options -Hibernate. See if it's enabled or got disabled. Even if you don't have identical menus (I'm on Windows XP), you should be able to find that option somewhere. You can also do a Hibernate search and see what that comes up with. Often, Help windows have a link to an action. Good luck.

Cat has just barfed all over the carpet; off to help hubby sort it out. Life goes on......

  • sorry about the cat Annette! Lovely for you

I think Richard said he will try and update the blog daily until the beginning of November. Then the Sat Tag fixes start coming in weekly I think. So we should be kept up to date quite well

  • Not sure if you have your hibernate sorted yet cirrus but if you have Vista it is still in the Control Panel under Power Options.  You can change your settings there.

Use whatever talent you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those that sing the best.

  • Hi Teres I've been busy yesterday and out all day today.I'll get back to you, But,no Hibernate yet.

Are we now on to WEEKLY updates of the satellite data please?

  • Cirrus, I think they switch to weekly satellite updates next month. I don't expect any updates over the weekend.

Glad I have tuned in late and missed the anguish of Rothiemurchus' flight out to sea. Phew.

Ghastly day here yesterday & today. Hot north wind bringing dust and pollen. An early taste of summer. My head is pounding - must be worse for asthma sufferers. Our bird bath almost dried out before we noticed. Poor farmers probably have dried out crops too. Must go and peel vegies. Adelaide 5.20 pm

  • Sorry to hear your'e hot and dusty, AQ. Sunny and pleasant here, which is very welcome as you might have gathered, we've not had much of a summer really. Autumn here can be lovely, though, its just that the nights draw in and it gets dark earlier and earlier. Just cleaned out my birdbath & all the little garden birds are queuing up for their turn in the sunshine, it's a lovely sight. Found a big toad behind a pot by the garden door this morning, had to put him in the thickest part of the garden border before he got too hot! Have a good weekend.

  • That sounds pretty unpleasant AQ, sorry. When does you summer offically start?

Hope fully have a quiet weekend planned here.

  • Today's max temp was 30 C (86 F), last night's min 21 C (70 F). Summer may start Dec on the calendar but we usually get hot days from mid Oct until March. It is Jan/Feb when it really sizzles with 40+ temps and the nights often not below high 20s. Then it is difficult to sleep. Especially when it goes on day after day, night after night. As you can tell I am a winter person. Of course our winters are mild compared to LG.

  • Weather here on TI is sunny:

    Temp : 20.9

    Wind N 3mph

    Pressure : 1031 falling
