Almost forgot about starting this one! Off to read last few posts of last week.
Gorgeous photos OG what pleasure you must have seeing all this going on in your garden.
Margobird
Margobird You lucky thing! I should have been going to Nethy Bridge when you were going to LG - evden know the chalets where you will be staying. Have had to cancel our holiday because of OH's condition - and I'm not taking it very well! You can probably be assured of good weather when we're not there. Enjoy! It's just beautiful. If you can sned/post pics of your meeting with the others, I'd love to see them (and evderyone else probably would too.)
patriciat I really am sorry about your holiday, must be so difficult for you and your OH and I can well understand how you are feeling. It would have been so nice to meet you. I was hoping to meet dibnlib but not sure if this will happen now. i am pretty useless with a camera but will try and get some pics. II have terrible trouble with the camera as it is a digital one and it when the light shines on the screen and all I can see is me and the bad vision I have doesn't help either. I have some binoculars which I will be taking but no doubt there will be some in the hide so I should be able to see OK. From all the pics I have see I know I am going to be so insprired by the scenery.
Woops! Last replied four pages ago – must be brief!
Alicat – as with all holidays, I pack to go north on the layer principle – prepare for cooler weather using several thin layers, then you can peel them off when not needed. LG will probably need one layer more than Beauly or Inverness since they are both at sea level. BTW, if you detour into Dunkeld to visit LotL, I recommend Spill the Beans café for lunchtime – 6 Cathedral Street. Enjoy!!
Terry – thinking of you in the forest tonight!
Diane – wonderful account of your negotiations with the Queen! I hope you are staying safe again today – she does owe you that for letting her stay there! It must be great to watch her through the glass – really interesting.
Annette – Grandkids job opportunities sound good – but can understand Gdaughter’s hesitation about returning full-time, especially if she might want more babies.
Alan – more great pictures – particularly good one of Shelduck – nearly always on the water when I see them! And now I see Baby Goldfinch – ours don’t have little ones yet, but I am looking forward to them. Three juvenile Blackbirds here today.
Lynette – good that choir practice is on again tonight. A lot of church activities here stop May to September, or even October – sad for the older folk who miss their little get-togethers. Good pictures – love the Elephants when I get time to look in at Pete’s Pond – especially when they bathe in the evenings.
Brenda – so sad about your SiL – and hard for her OH. I expect they were both glad to have you there – but difficult for you too. We too keep getting more large pots – would be much better to have less if weather is going to be dry.
Margo – sorry you won’t see Patricia this year at LG – and now won’t be able to meet Dibnlib – but Wendy will keep an eye on you – and just think of all the new friends you’ll make there! You’ll love the staff – they are a great bunch this year (but then, they always are!).
Haven’t done any watering yet, and it’s going dark! See you tomorrow!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Back from choir practice and a visit to the local pub.
Brenda nice to have you back with us but sorry to hear about your SIL, sounds as though she has developed a bit of a phobia re her op last year, lets hope that all the tests come back clear and that she will soon start to feel a lot better.
Alan - what a real cuite of a picture and also OG, capturing those babies and mum feeding it.
Terry, hope all goes well at Bassenthwaite - I think thats where you said you were doing some osprey duties.
Its blowing a fair gale at LG at present,EJ staying low.

Do love to hear from you all and all the news even though I don't reply to everyone. Thoughts and prayers are with those having problems and ill health. Also with the rest of you as you go about our daily routines.
Evening all: Spent a couple of hours in the hammock today; nice relaxing day. Off to start Daily Chat if someone else hasn't beaten me to it! Have a nice Thursday all.
Good morning original goldfinch I am really looking forward to meeting Wendy and all the staff at LG. So hoping I will be able to meet Richard as well. Wendy is being so helpful, picking me up from airport and taking me back and sorting out some shopping for me. I will have to eat while I am there although food will probably be had on the run. Lots to see and do and only a week to do it in.
OH enjoyed his gig last night but fell asleep on the train and missed his stop. He always stays in a B&B in Walton on Thames when he goes to his London gigs. The nest stop was West Byfleet so he had a 2 hour walk back to where he was staying as there were no more trains and no eother way of getting back. I asked why he didn't get a cab but he said it would have been horrendously expensive. He is now driving back to work and I think he will be absolutely shattered by this evening. Wouldn't say anything to him but I think he is trying to burn the candle both ends and of course not getting any younger. He also has a swollen ankle where someone kicken him accidentally when he was at the gig so all in all I think he is feeling a bit sorry for himself.
Billie is beside me as usual sunning herself but she will get a shock when I put her out while I am outl. Will want a big fuss made of her when I come back.
Have a nice day all.
Thinking of you, Dibnlib. Hope all goes well today. Hope it's not as windy with you as it is here.
The mind is like a parachute, it doesn't work if it's not open.
Joining quietwoman in wishing dibnlib well, come back to us as soon as you can, we will miss you. Hugs Margaret x
