I have decided to start this thread for discussing technical issues that come up rather than messing up the other threads.
I guess the first issue seems to be pasting Word text into posting boxes.
Recently we have had three threads lockup up as a result of posts involving Word text.

Kate I think it is just your choice. I use FF but I believe Chloe and tuthers like Chrome

I have gone over to Chrome. It takes a while getting used to it but it works well in the end.
It is always better to have more than one browser.
I would still be using IE if it worked, which it doesn't.
I'm using Firefox, that's an alternative.
However, KATE-P, if you have Windows 7 Starter, I wonder if your PC or laptop is not particularly high-powered, in which case you might like to try a lightweight browser which I've been testing and which works well:
Comodo IceDragon is based on Firefox and takes the same add-ons (AdBlock Plus, Flash Block, NoScript, etc etc) and is reckoned to be more secure than Firefox.

Yes I have used Chrome for some time now. I abandoned IE 10 after it started playing up and IE11 seems pretty much the same. I will stick with Chrome for as long as it suits me, which it does right now.
The operating systems I use mostly are Windows 7 Premium and Windows 8.1.
ChloeB & Tiger's Osprey Data
Apologies if this has been asked before but with 240 pages of comments on this thread it's a bit too much to search through them all!
I hope someone can help me. On the LG RSPB webcam page I can see nothing - just a white blank where the webcam view should be. I can see it fine on the Carnyx page. Does anyone have any ideas why I can't see it on the RSPB page?
It has been suggested that this may be to do with Silverlight or Java but I've made sure I've got the most up to date versions of both and no success.
For info, I'm using Firefox and Windows 8.1.
Thanks in anticipation
Gill

Are you using a 32 or 64 bit Firefox? I am not sure if you can get both. You got to use the Java appropriate to the browser. For example Chrome is a 32 bit browser so you need 32 bit Java.
It does look as if Firefox is 32 bit so you will need 32 bit java.
I downloaded Java direct from their website which supposedly checks for the right version. I have no idea how to check which one I've got - bit of a thickie with techie things I'm afraid!

The Loch Garten live feed needs Windows Media Player so make sure you have the appropriate plug-in/extension for your browser.
Hi Chloe, I've got Media Player - other RSPB webcams work OK as well, only the LG one I have problems with.
