I have decided to start this thread for discussing technical issues that come up rather than messing up the other threads.
I guess the first issue seems to be pasting Word text into posting boxes.
Recently we have had three threads lockup up as a result of posts involving Word text.

There is no hurry. It seems a shame that some people decide that some things are beyond them when all it requires is a bit of effort.
Hi Tiger ,
Could use some lessons with Google Earth re tracking the Ospreys please. Thank you
Scylla I do street view (streetwalk) on Google maps not Google Earth. It really is quite easy once you get the knack.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong. I have taken five attempts to post a picture not normally a difficult task for me - I just get a red cross now the same after five attempts and as it takes some time to download a 8MB picture it has wasted an hour.
Second query - I take pictures in RAW generally 8 MB - Take a while to down load - How do I reduce the size so they do not take so long to download.

I wouldn't imagine you could upload a RAW image. Thought they would have to be jpg, gif or png.
Keith, if you do as Alan says and save a copy as a jpg file you can adjust the quality of the image which will make it a smaller file size.
Doggie - All my photos have been this size before - No Problem in the past. How do I copy it into another format with reduced size.
My pictures say on Properties JPEG format .jpg but some are 8MB.
Done this but I think this option just re-sizes in dimension ??????
I think it is just the budget site we have as I have no problems elsewhere - No red crosses and it posted at eigth attempt.
Keith - the maximum size for photos on this community is 4MB. It says so somewhere - no idea where these days. Also, if all you get is a red cross, try right clicking on the cross and chose "show picture". If it is an acceptable size, it will show.
If you re-size the dimensions, the file size will reduce accordingly.
Cheers, Linda.
