I have decided to start this thread for discussing technical issues that come up rather than messing up the other threads.
I guess the first issue seems to be pasting Word text into posting boxes.
Recently we have had three threads lockup up as a result of posts involving Word text.

Now I go to the BBC site and copy and paste the URL for that
http://www.bbc.co.uk/
I use this as an example as it is simple enough to be typed if necessary.

Follow it where??. I use that system to insert full url's etc all the time. It's how to replace the url, as you presumably did, to say Richards Blog that's got me stumped.
Birdies LG DU update.
But the URL to Richard's blog is long and complicated and typing it would be folly.
So I just copy and paste

I understand that. But How do you replace all that with 'Blog' or 'This page' ie the url is replaced with a word which when clicked on takes you to the relevant page?

Yes.www.rspb.org.uk/.../default.aspx but if I wanted to say Here or This page how would I do it ?
Now if I want to put the link to Richard's blog here
1. I first highlight the "here"
2. You notice the little chain comes up bold
3. Click it and a box menu comes up
This is the good bit coming up Mike, be patient LOL.... (sorry Tiger for interrupting your lesson) LOL

You are fine. Teaching kids is so easy compared to adults. Kids just accept that they do not know things! :)
