I have decided to start this thread for discussing technical issues that come up rather than messing up the other threads.
I guess the first issue seems to be pasting Word text into posting boxes.
Recently we have had three threads lockup up as a result of posts involving Word text.
Tiger Signature
Tiger/ChloeB, thanks for your comments. Happy for it to be published, as you see fit. The data is going to change almost daily, so that is a point to bear in mind. When I uploaded the file I saw a message/comment about editing an existing file.....so I need to check that out. It could mean that I would be able to edit the RSPB copy, which at the moment was not what I was intending to do. I was going to upload each new version separately. I cannot see how the editing would work unless the RSPB version was downloaded, edited, then uploaded again and amended/restored on their servers, keeping the same file reference?
Nevertheless I am happy that it is working. Having it on the webspace, would make it readily available and clearly visible, to those not au fait with spreadsheeets.

Sat track schedule Spring 2014
LG 7 days; RW & SWT nil; LDOP varies
It is only a few minutes work jsb
Here is your spreadsheet on a webpage unlinked, can link very easily later. Updates can be uploaded and replaced as required....or could even be linked together, on same page or separate. What do you think?

ChloeB & Tiger's Osprey Data
Need to nip out for a short time so will catch any comments later.
ChloeB: On each update I shall put the change(s) in bold type. That should make it easy for folks to see what has changed. Re linking or not linked, I suggest you make it consistent with your website other content. I have a feeling that there may be some less well known nests (not the secret ones) like Keilder, Tweed Valley (Kailzie Gardens) or Aberfeldy, where there was talk of tracking projects.
As an aside, another subject that has been overlooked is.....what happened to the artificial nest projects, like Arne, near Poole and the French ones they were trying out in the Gironde.
EDIT: At 15.27 hrs....I just put up the new thread, using the same filename on my laptop, the spreadsheet has updated OK.....but interestingly the one on this thread is still unchanged. So as I update the new thread the 'history' will be kept.

Welll at least that is progress. I thought that the cam on the RSPB site was Real Player?
Possibly issues with Flash Player too.
Hi Tiger - this is what I get..............
I have X86 processor - don't understand why it's showing 128-bit???
This is what I get from RSPB LG webcam - have uninstalled WMP and reinstalled it several times but never had a picture???
Does this mean anything to you??

That says Cipher Strenght which is not what we are talking about My cypher strenght is 256.
I think your system is most likely 32 bit.
Hi Wendy,
I run the same system as you. Windows XP with IE8 and have no problems seeing the RSPB webcam. If I go to About IE8 it also shows 128 bit, but I have it set at 32 bit in the control settings (with only 2 options, 16 bit and 32 bit).
Cheers, Linda.

Does your media player play anything else like video clips?
