I have decided to start this thread for discussing technical issues that come up rather than messing up the other threads.
I guess the first issue seems to be pasting Word text into posting boxes.
Recently we have had three threads lockup up as a result of posts involving Word text.

Kate2 Well I gave in and thought I would try again as struggling to download open Office, some are not safe and you have to get the right one so thought I would try the Microsoft Office and still will not work. the product key starts 96V69 and keep getting an arrow pointing to the first 9 saying invalid and cannot type anymore. This is really annoying. So looks like it will have to go back
Thanks will try that and really getting annoyed now.
Still got no-where. I have been at this all afternoon grr
Given up
I have rung Microsoft support and it is an invalid product key. Furious lol.
I should have phoned earlier.
Oh dear.. so what do they suggest???
Microsft said take it back lol. It could only happen to me. I have "Mug" written across my head. ROTFL
Oh Bless you, not a MUG at all, more like stoopid Microsoft..
Catch up on the saga later
Sorry to hear of your MS Office woes B&B; an invalid product key sold by a retailer sounds very dodgy indeed, and I think someone at ASDA would be very interested in hearing about it!
If you don't get any joy with it, you could try the free alternative alluded to by Tiger. Open Office has actually been 'forked' (split off into a another project) called Libre Office, which is what I use. You can find out about, and download it here:
http://www.libreoffice.org/
(Open Office still exists, but is maintained by Oracle since they bought out Sun Microsystems. Most of the developers didn't like the idea so they left, and consequently there is more development of Libre Office).
I do have a fairly ancient version of MS Office (the 2003 suite), but I don't use it unless I need to, which is rarely these days. There can be the odd formatting issues with MS Office reading Libre Office/Open Office files (saved in MS formats like .doc or .docx), but you can always check afterwards using the MS Office Viewer, which is (or used to be) available online from Microsoft for free. Of course if you're not sending the files to anyone with MS Office only, you can just save in Libre Office's native formats. But it will load and save in a multitude of different formats, including many Microsoft ones.

Thank you all and what a wate of a day. RTB I do think Asda willl be interested in how they got this. I think I will download that Software thanks RTB and Tiger. I will give it ago.
