Technical Test Thread

I have decided to start this thread for discussing technical issues that come up rather than messing up the other threads.

I guess the first issue seems to be pasting Word text into posting boxes.

Recently we have had three threads lockup up as a result of posts involving Word text.

Whey Hey how did I do that :) only joking..

I do not have copy link location......

Well do the alternative of going to the post and then copying the address.

    SO  do you

    1.right click the post

2.Rt click url at top of page.

    3. Insert this into wherever you want it included.

As I said I did that on the very first one and it just went to the page not the actual post within the page. Doh!!!!

  • Trying something else Chloe.  Link to your post.

Nope that didnt work either, just took me to the top of the page that your post was on Chloe, so darn frustrating.   Will try again some time though, won't give up.

I do not see anything wrong.

If it's a long url how do you collect it from the site & put it in the box, or is that too complicated?

Well the trick is go to the site that you want to link to. Then copy the address from the address bar by highlighting it and then saving it to the clipboard.

Best do this first before trying to construct your link.

Then paste it into the box when the time is right. You got to ensure that the box is empty or the contents of the box are highlighted before you paste the URL into the box.

    This step often causes trouble.

[/quote] I'm afraid you'll have to tell me how to save it to clipboard & how to get it back again (up to now I've written it out on a piece of paper & typed it in).

I will refer you back to the discussion a few weeks ago.

  • Your link took me straight to my post Mary.
