I have decided to start this thread for discussing technical issues that come up rather than messing up the other threads.
I guess the first issue seems to be pasting Word text into posting boxes.
Recently we have had three threads lockup up as a result of posts involving Word text.
Tiger Signature
Great certificate Mary, love it :))
Out of interest, what software do you use? Or do you design them yourself?

Here
Kate2. I think where you and I were going wrong was putting the url in the actual post.
Once you highlight your chosen word..I've just done one on the Dyfi link..ie:Ceulan. The link icon comes live and then you can open the 'box' which will have Ceulan in. Delete that as has been said and click to paste in the url...in my case the Dyfi facebook link. When posted all you see is Ceulan. Hope that helps.
Was typing as you were posting. Well done and well said. I agree.
1. Copy URL from address bar (i.e.www. bbc.co.uk) DON'T paste it anywhere yet.2. Using RICH FORMATTING mode type your message including your link word ie 'HERE'( or whatever you want to name your link)3. Highlight (Draw cursor across) the word ' HERE'4. Click on link icon to open link box.5.NOW Paste URL into 'link url' box after clearing it first of the word 'HERE'6. Make 'target' Open in new window.7. Click INSERT..
EDIT....9/10/2012
Now to do a LINK to an exact message:):)
As above but instead of Number1.copying. the URL this time.
Right click on the message date and time you want to refer to.
Select copy link location and follow steps onwards.

EDIT..31/03/2013
How to do Quotes ( as Mike did a reply HERE)
"To do a quote you need to click on the 'Use rich formatting' link . That brings up the post,
click on quote and it appears in the posting box.
You can then post your own message and if necessary modify the one you are quoting to select just the words you want."

Doh Mike was pleased you were having similar difficulty to me, so maybe there were others and afraid they were going to be laughed at,
but if there is one thing I have learnt over the few years of 'Ospreying':):)
it is there is so much understanding for everyone.
