I have decided to start this thread for discussing technical issues that come up rather than messing up the other threads.
I guess the first issue seems to be pasting Word text into posting boxes.
Recently we have had three threads lockup up as a result of posts involving Word text.

This is where I feel that most of the problems come in the box
This is the box
Now the important window is the Link URL window
You either got to clear that before pasting in your URL alternatively highlight it by drawing the cursor across it and then <right click> and <paste> the URL in.
People could always try a very simple URL first like http://www.bbc.co.uk/
It is the not clearing the link URL in the box before inserting the link which causes all the problems.
You either make sure that window at Link URL is empty before pasting in your URL from the clipboard. If I have to I just use the <backspace> to do that.
or
You highlight the contents of the Link URL window and then paste the URL. In this case the contents of the window get deleted. You got be careful if there is a lot of content in the Link URL window to make sure none is left behind.
I personally alway choose to open the link in a new window by selecting the appropiate choice from the Target window.
For everyone's efforts in mastering PoshLinks - it was suggested to me to produce a Certificate for those who got there in the end. Well Done everyone, and Well Done to the Teachers too...

On the subject of terminology, what is 'the box' actually called? Is it a type of dialogue box? Or is it a 'window'? Are the bits you type in called windows or bars? It can all get very confusing can't it?
When you are used to dealing with things like this it seems easy and you dont really think about it, or what terms you use, but for a newbie to computers it could be really off putting....thinking back to when I first started.
