I have decided to start this thread for discussing technical issues that come up rather than messing up the other threads.
I guess the first issue seems to be pasting Word text into posting boxes.
Recently we have had three threads lockup up as a result of posts involving Word text.

See I found you on that page - better get some HW done if I'm to be tied to PC when all emails flood in!!! Makes one lazy being notified of all events by mail doesn't it? Such a time-consuming job trolling through all different forums to keep up! Can't have this at fledging time - might miss the event

Just logged on to tell you doggie - only 274 messages - good job I did the HW & washing & cooking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone know why I cannot get the ospreycam from RSPB site - it keeps telling me that I need Windows Media Player but I already have it - I can get Carnyx but Scylla tells me that her better defined pics come from RSPB site - so I want it too!!! Help please
Hi Wendy. Sorry to hear you can't get the cam on the RSPB site. The only thing I can think of is to check for updates in Windows Media Player. You should have version 11.0.6002.18311. Hope this helps :-)
Paul.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.

It's not as simple as that, unfortunately. My VIDEOS are from the RSPB site and if you see a still pic with the date/time underneath then it means I've snapped it while going thru the video recording after the event.
But other times I take snapshots from RSPB or Carnyx or VLC.
The forum picture-adder spreads out the pics sometimes, even when you tell it to restrict to, say, 400 width. That makes them look even more grainy and wishy-washy.
If you remind me in daylight I will do snapshots from different sources and put them in here, then we can tell which ones you "covet" ;-)
Let's hope I'm awake in daylight tomorrow ;-D

Screenshot = Carnyx. (The same scene on my other laptop RSPB stream is much more colourful. But I'm having problems transferring the pics at the mo.)
Recorded from RSPB on the "more colourful" laptop, snapshot taken from Freemake Video Converter. I do believe that the display one is using to upload the shot influences the result.
Screenshot from RSPB stream on the laptop I'm working on:
They all look washed out compared to the live display on the Asus laptop (not renowned for its brilliant display) that I record from :-(
Screenshot per Asus RSPB live stream - not anything like as colourful as it is on that screen :-/
The last screenshot "enhanced" with Simply Good Pictures. The russets should be much darker/brighter.
BUT! All the above pics might look entirely different to YOU :o
I've got the RSPB live stream open in FF and Chrome side-by-side on the "colourful" laptop, and Chrome definitely looks a little duller than FF.
Also, I can't get Chrome to put such a thick black border around the picture as Firefox does - but the Asus 15" screen is the only one that FF will do it on, not on my 11.6" laptops.
HELP - again - I have been sent all round the houses in my attempt to download media player 11 - have complied with all downloads required (I think) but still cannot open RSPB osprey webcam, still asking for plug-in - have done it over and over and still no luck - just what am I doing wrong???????????? Going mad here!!!
