I have decided to start this thread for discussing technical issues that come up rather than messing up the other threads.
I guess the first issue seems to be pasting Word text into posting boxes.
Recently we have had three threads lockup up as a result of posts involving Word text.
Tiger Signature
Just checking to see if I've put 'Index Thread' in my sig box correctly!
Seems to be there ... and working!!

Index Thread
Checking whether my Index thread works...fingers crossed.
Edit - Nope!!!!
Hi Maria
I am here - what are you trying to do? A "posh link"?
Hi, yes, I followed the instructions that Tiger posted, I am at work so will have a better go when I get home. Thanks for the offer though.
Great Joan, it certainly does work. I just tested it :)
Yes I'm sure you will be able to do it when you get back to your own computer Maria :)

this insert link icon doesn't work here for me either
ah it does in firefox mmmmmmmm let me try IE again
Oh, OK it does. now to do what I wanted to do :)
Just a quick reminder here
You always have to highlight the text with your cursor to make the link icon appear.
Just about to test whether I can post a still image and a 'live' image from wide cam.....
Still image....
Now a semi live image??
The second is using Copy image URL (Right click in FireFox) and inserting that URL into the Insert Image dialogue box. Lets see what happens....
EDIT..Yes, this does indeed produce a changing image from the wide cam. Incidentally, the image will update upon manual refresh after only 1 minute not the 2minutes as suggested.
Now testing faint splodges disappearing depending on vertical viewing angle on LCD monitor display.....
EDIT...... This splodge is always visible from front view and any height above the screen.
It disappears if viewed from positions below 'eye level' and more.
EDIT again......When you get here Cirrus, it was this post of yours that got me thinking ;-)
Re-EDIT on 1April, 2pm....This effect is variable as I just tried it on my large screen LCD tv/monitor. The 'splodge' does not disappear but is at it's dimmest when viewed straight on!
Testing linking directly to a specific post.....
Cirrus post from DU
EDIT....yes, that works. Thanks Tiger from the other day.
