Hi Tiger  didn't think i could teach anyone that but it feels great to have tought someone that when i only mastered it myself yesterday

also is the main osprey blog ok with you on my comp its gone funny it was ok this morning but not now when you click on osprey posts theres none there i will post a pic to show what im getting if its mine please help

ALICAT - Do not underestimate yourself - you achieved today in a few minutes what has took me ages to do on my own including six hours yesterday and got no where.

Thanks and as well as all of us being osprey followers you are all great people on these forums - I know where to come when I am stuck - TIGER advised me to add this thread to my favourites another thing I never understood until yesterday - now I have three with more to add.

In 24 hours can now post Bold - Underline - italics - Have Favourites and now Posh Link. You would not think I have been a regular here for years.

Keith  It is all a matter of psychology. For some reason people are reluctant to put aside learning time. People never stop learning but people convince themselves that they are too busy to learn.

A few weeks ago Igave my brother perfectly good solutions to a number of computer problems. But then I am still his wee brother and not likely to know how to teach him!

I also user a filing system for my favourites on my browser. I use IE 9

I have basic categories which I keep long term and they are sub divided as well.

I also click lots of passing pages as favs and clear them away into chronological folders. I do not know how many faourites I have but it moust be many thousand

 thanks keith for what you wrote it down to tigers great teaching yesterday i was having trouble then somehow i manged it but didn't i would be able to help anyone with it but thought i would have a go glad you managed it with how i explained things.

also thanks to fish re: osprey blog thats not displaying properly thought it was something that i had done but didn't know what

Many Thanks all - Why was I stumped with this, I have been showing off my skills now in Gabfest and have posted a few Posh Links - I can now do it like typing without any instuctions and so quick.

Sorry I must have looked a fool yesterday spending hours trying to do this but then thats life.

TIGER I am also a wee brother and he is also a teacher (Chemistry) at a very famous public school in Manchester.

He is the photographer and he is teaching me this at present - NOW the reverse role - Sorry I can never go there and like you will never be able to teach him about anything.

Morning Keith. Learning is a great thrill isn't it? I once had a pupil who just listened and then did exactly what I said. He learned so fast. There is only one lesson that matters and that is "To learn how to learn". People forget that and become wrapped up in all sort of nonsense.

I tend to discourage lists of instructions. My lesson is:

1. Learn how to do it

2. Practice it again and again until you are sure you can do it blindfolded.

It is number 2 that most people fall down on.

Of course number 3 is show off your new skill :)
