Hi, all. Welcome to a new week!
Found an amazing story on the News Page:

Morning all,
Linda, Thanks for the amazing doggie story. I will read it to Hamish later.
Tiger, Great news of Pale Male and fantastic pictures as usual.
Everyone else thanks for the chat and pics.
Not a lot on today so probably be watching tennis and football and of course ospreys. Lady P is off to the shopping centre with her daughter so I am left to man the fort today. Weather is dull with a chilly wind. Temps 13c.
Windy with occasional showers. May visit town museum later – local art exhibition final day. Hope to spend some time on family tree.
Annette – that sounds a lovely day – apart from the smoked salmon. I hope you and OH have a great time with friends later today. Glenwhan garden has lots of sculpture dotted around – some very obvious to view, others hidden away so you suddenly come across them – I like that, adds to the planting rather than detracting from it.
Tiger – those pictures of Pale Male’s chicks are great – his photography is so good! I always wonder how such majestic birds can have such cuddly cute babies – although I see the beaks already look ready for action! That poor Mrs Duck has her 14 (?) babies neatly lined up but they aren’t all facing the same way to jump in - a photo where I would love to see what happened next! We saw a Mrs Duck at Glenwhan with a string of 13 behind her, but photos weren’t very clear as she had them among Lily pads.
Lindy – so sorry about Friend’s new problem – as if she hadn’t got enough to deal with. I always find that frequent clinics etc remind me that I have problems, so I end up feeling worse! Thanks for the story of the tornado Terrier – so brave.
Lynette – glad to read that you hope to go to final service at the chapel that holds many memories for you. It is sad when congregations grow old together and no young ones come in.
Cirrus – sorry no hike, but enjoy time with visitors.
A couple more photos from Glenwhan. A change from pink Azaleas:
This was at the point where I began to remind OH that as far as we continued up, he would need to help me get down again!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Here is my swallow pic from Wales, not as good as the one OG took but I like the fact that I got the streamers in:
Andy Murray has just started his match at Roland Garros. It can be seen on Sky channel 411 Eurosport2 UK.
Loved this pic. Thank you. Sorry haven't had time to log onto LG for past two or three days. Will catch up eith all your posts later.....hopefully.
Saw this in the paper today. Amazing, don't you think?
This is my first attempt at posting a pic so forgive me if it doesn't work or I manage to foul up the whole thing. It's also my first attempt at scanning on my new printer. Here goes:
The mind is like a parachute, it doesn't work if it's not open.
Grey & Cloudy & breezy here today - it's a good job my hair is just going to be cut & left to go it's own way as usual - I would never be able to keep it styled in this weather.
Some lovely garden photos again - quite a few of my photos from last weekend are chapels - to contribute to a Family History project which hopes to have photos of all churches and chapels in Britain.
The story about the chapel closing is all too familiar - many of the photos on the website are of chapels in all stages of dereliction or converted to other uses. There is a chapel near to me which a work colleague is connected with - their congregation was dwindling to small numbers of elderly people. They have tried to get younger people to attend by changing the service times and bringing a youth group from a larger church. Unfortunately the chapel is still in danger of closing as the old congregation find the new times inconvenient and don't like the modern services when they do attend. The young people are using the building but not contributing financially to it's upkeep.
Just watching the webcam & the poor chicks being clobbered by a stick. It sounds windy up there - I'm not used to hearing the sound as I used to have the sound turned off in previous years.
Good morning all hope you are all well but it seems the weather has let us all down this weekend, very blowy and chilly here.
Tiger thanks for the link to Pale Male and family. What a thrill to see those chicks and Lincoln must be over the moon after the heartbreak of Lola going missing. What a phtotographer he is, must have a super camera. How lucky those residents are to see this going on in front of them.
Alan you must have been pleased to see a red kite at last. Enjoy your day manning the fort together with Hamish.
dibnlib sounds like you had a good day yesterday with a very nice lunch. Hope you manage with the bike but do take care. I know they have bikes for the volunteers to use at LG but definitely won't be getting on one, have not ridden a bike since I was a teenager and don't think I will take the risk of falling off and hurting myself.
Lynette sad about the chapel which is part of your life can only hope thay will find a good use for it. Several churches in Dorset have closed over the years and a shame to see them standing empty.
Diane what wonderful news that you have ospreys quite close to you, how exciting. Very wise not to post location details as well in this day and age you never know who is looking in.
patriciat another long walk but at least in the dry for a change. Hope your OH enjoys his Harris Hawk day on Sunday. I have a day booked for a birds of prey experience in July which l am looking forward to. I am off to LG on 11 June for a week, getting really excited now but hope the weather will be a bit kinder to me than it is being for our wonderful osprey family.
OG great photos once again you have so many memories of places you visit.
Lindybird your poor friend is really going through a tough time at the moment. My youngest sister had to have her gall bladder removed a couple of years ago after suffering the most horrendous pain she said she had ever felt. My good wishes go to your friend.
Sorry OH now on way home from shopping so running out of time. Hi to everyone I have not mentioned and have a good weekend.
Margobird
Murray through in straight sets despite a nasty ankle injury which may hamper him in the next round against harder opposition.
