Just looking in at Caerlaverock and the female is bedded down there too. Looking windy.

wonder if I can post this pic, just an experiment
One o’clock rain was late, so we didn’t stop for lunch until half past two – rain started while we were in. Next dry weather likely to be Tuesday, so can now catch up indoors. But wildlife first! I see from WRI that Lily and family had a bit of a challenge from June (her mother) yesterday. Caerlaverock camera seems to be suffering from the wind – their hatching isn’t due yet and the two birds are still both incubating – with occasional arguments about whose turn it is! EJ appears to be snoozing on her nest. After posting this, will have a look at some of Tiger's earlier links.
Lynette – I forgot to ask this morning – how is your OH now? I hope he will be able to get holiday insurance for Sri Lanka with his various health issues. How many of you are going – just the two, or is Daughter going with you? Your craft prep for Junior Church reminded me of when we used to host SU volunteers – I often got roped in to help with cutting out for lunchtime clubs at schools!
Dibnlib – liked Mrs Duck and family! Does that mean you managed to Loch an Eilean after all?
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Tiger – visited your links from this morning.
NY Hawk cam: excellent to see baby doing so well – obviously not taking any harm from Mother’s leg problem – but worrying that is caused by ill-fitting ring.
Pale Male: I wonder who is the real Mom? Are Lima and Ginger one and the same?
Hello everyone. Good to see that nearly everyone is back. GREAT that we have a new arrival. It's been an interesting day. A swarm of bees arrived in our garden this morning like a big black cloud! After a while they decided to settle in our apple tree in 2 large seething balls. That was our garden a no go area. The man next door keeps bees. It worries me a little as we live in a residential area in an average semi. Anyhow he wasn't in when I went round so I left a note. He's been round this afternoon and OH saw him. He says they aren't his bees as his are yellower and these are blacker. However, he came round in his suit and set up a box that he seemed to scoop most of them in to then he left that on the grass and said he'd come back later when they'd settled down and take them away. In fact he's been while I've been on the computer. He took the box away and then came back and scooped a few more from the tree. There still seem to be a lot around though. It's been annoying as I havent been able to go up the garden and fill the feeders. I just hope they've gone by tomorrow.
Afternoon all,
Back from a very wet and chilly Wales to glorious sunshine here today. Despite the disappointing weather we had a good holiday.
Visited Cors Dyfi and Glaslyn. No pics I am afraid as both nests are too far from the hides to get decent pic. The day we went to Dyfi was very windy and the female was right down in the nest. We did not see the male when we were there. At Glaslyn we saw both male and female on the nest and the chicks being fed. We did see a redpoll on the feeders at Dyfi which was a first for me:
Welcome back, Alan - Good that you enjoyed yourselves, in spite of the damp weather. As you can see, we are still trying to find our way around this unfamiliar scene. Hope that Hamish enjoyed himself, too, and is recovered from his poorly paw.
dibnlib: Cute little guys! - the picture came out well.
Forgot to say, nice pics of Bobbie from Alicat the other day. Looks like you are both getting used to each other, Alicat.
Sheila: Have a great holiday, and come back to us with pics.
Evening All. Bother, I am still forgetting about the formatting bit! Hello Alan, glad to hear all went well with your holiday. Even if it lacked a sight of osprey due to the inclement weather, at least you ticked a first in the redpoll! Lots of osprey here to keep an eye on! Home in time for 2nd chick! How is Hamish? Was he able to enjoy his walks?
dibnlib Your experiment was a success, and what a lovely photo too!
Tiger loved the swam photos.
Just wanted to say thanks for the best wishes for the hols. I'm looking forward to it, despite the forecast! Probably not too much rain, but certainly extremely blowy for the first part of the week. I'm not expecting wall to wall sunshine, but if we see any, it will be a bonus!
Bye for now. See you in two weeks.
