We have a thread for discussion of how this new software will impact us as a group.
This thread is only for " brief" questions to be forwarded to the center for answers
My questions are:
Will we be able to post screen shots on the new forum?
Will the center send an email to all registered users with a link to the new forums ?
Will all LG Osprey comments be lumped into one place like they are on the main blog?
Please add your questions here . Comments and discussion on the other thread Tiger started of How will this change impact us as a group
Thanks

Tiger Thanks for letting me know that the threads won't actually disappear after the upgrade! I have had so few PMs I haven't experienced what happens yet, but it is good to be advised to save them anyway. I guess this business of not being able to leave messages unless the person is a friend, just means you have to make them a friend first - and presumably that will continue to be just a click of a button to request 'friendship'?

Tiger- Thank you for your input re: the new system...I personaly have really struggled to find my way around this site, plus most of the time unable to get on, so i'm praying that it is a massive plus for me. Its great to read everyones messages during my working day, although irritating that I can't give any input to you all.. Although like others, I do hope folk like yourself can guide others like myself through...Just want to say thank you to you all for your enjoyable messages. Tina

The LG webcam, along with several others including the Goshawk from the New Forest can also be viewed on the Carnyx website: http://www.carnyx.tv/CarnyxWild/WildlifeCameras.aspx Note that some video feeds, including the Loch Garten one, require Microsoft Silverlight to be installed. You can get it if you don't have it already: http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx For anyone running Linux, there is an open source version I believe, although I've not tried it. I prefer to use standalone players to the web browser for viewing the webcams as I can then resize and arrange them on the desktop better. Such software usually provides a simple screenshot function, and often a video recording facility too. I use VLC player for recording clips from the LG cam. There is an option to open standalone players, using both Silverlight and Windows Media Player, in some feeds from Carnyx, including the Goshawk.

Thanks!!
I got in on the Carnyx site to see the nest
I am unable to get the nest Cam . All I get is a black screen and the buffering wheel goes around and around but never loads
Barbara Jean On a PC when one gets a black screen, one can right click it and get a menu and you get a menu. On that menu there is a button <options> By clicking <options> one gets another menu called <performance> Then there is a menu called <acceleration> In the past we have found that by moving the slider we get over the black screen problem. How this works on a mac I do not know.
Over on the DPOF board there is at least one and probably more people who use Macs for cam watching. If you are interested I can ask the question over there for you.
