Daily Update (LG nest), Sunday 8 May 2011

Thank you for the fish news kendol.  Odin has just called in to say hello, dropping a twig on EJ's back and landing with one foot on her back too!  He's just hanging out blocking the view of EJ.  She decides to take the opportunity of an exercise flight and takes off, and Odin treads very gently to take over incubation.

Lucky you kendol to be involved with CaperWatch.  Has it been a good season so far, as far as the team are concerned?

EJ has returned to the nest with what looks like a small piece of nesting material.  Odin didn't take too much persuading to get up and fly away.

Odin has called to say hello again, Standing behind her looking around.  Not sure, but EJ could be calling - intruder or fish?  If only there was sound!  Odin now decides to tacking the top right branches on the rim.  Now just standing, taking in the view, knocking EJ's head occasionally with his tail. 

Odin is still there still on the nest, and EJ continues to call, I think, so perhaps there is an intruder around.

If there is an intruder, it is upsetting EJ more than Odin, who continues to look in the opposite direction.  I think she must be nagging for a fish!!

He has just taken the hint and flown off!

I said that Odin had taken the hint, and sure enough he came back with a fish.  What a wonderful Odin you really are!

EJ flew away to have her afternoon fish, and Odin has taken up Egg Duty once more.

Edit:  And no, I haven't been sitting here afternoon!  It was just luck.

16.10 and Odin just arrived with a good sized fish,  which he promptly gave up to EJ. Sorry no pics yet haven't sorted the MW snap yet. Have split screen as Gos has been active. Something gruesom hanging in the nest and there must be aliens about as she/he keeps exploding off the nest and calling loudly. Returns with brilliant white undertail coverts well spread.

EJ is back on her eggs.  Odin needed no persuasion at all to get up, and away.

EJ returns ...has a quick preen ... and then Odin leaves!
