Weekly Chat, Sunday 8 May 2011

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers. I hope you all have a great day.

Do check back to last week's chat for OG's gorgeous wildflower garden pics And Lynette's pics of Dunedin & Hampton eaglets.

Linda - I love your pics of Tatton Park, especially autumn.

Alan  -24 handbags!!!! Must be related to our Dau#2 who collects shoes & handbags. Me, I have one all-purpose go-everywhere shoulder bag. Plus the gold one OH gave me decades ago and saw the light of day at the weddings.

Brenda, Linda, Lynette, Joan, OG - On my first trip o/s I had a list of what to take. It helps remind me not to forget vital things like eye drops, film (nowadays it is memory cards & battery charger!). When I returned I noted what I didn’t use and now I check the amended list, pruning every trip. Why drag excess around? Invariably my room in B&Bs was on 2nd or3 rd floor. Besides I may buy things, such as jumpers - that’s my weakness. Stupid really because I knit them and the wardrobe is bursting. So, OG, I shall choose one of them. And camera almost lives in said all-purpose bag!

Joan - I heard a story of a local teacher who had 7 children in her class named "Amy" but all spelled differently.

  • SheliaFE....Your photos are enough to brighten anyones day...Just lovely

  • Hi everyone.

Many thanks for all your updates.  Always great to read everything in these threads.  Brilliant effort from everyone, breaking the 500 posts barrier :-)

Margo:  Apologies for the belated Happy Anniversary.  Glad you and your OH had a nice day.

    Happy Saturday everyone!

    Paul.

Warning!  This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar.  Approach with extreme edginess.

  • Not seen Tiger Lily all day and thought she must be indoors as weather has been rubbish. So you can imagine my surprise when I opened back door to take rubbish out to the bin to find a startled cat. She must have seen us eating and she is now halfway in the house eating her favorite tea...tuna.

The sun is out as well a bit late though and the same is promised for tomorrow.

  • Dibnlib – I’m surprised Dillon hasn’t had a cat stand up to him like that earlier in his nine years!

Wendy – surely Liz wouldn’t go to LG from FW via Glenmore and Loch Morlich?  There are so many places sharing same names!  Pleased Tiger Lily turned up this evening!

Lindy – nice sunny photo of Buzz – but can we have the front end next time, please?

Bettyboo – you definitely belong to this group – we love to complain about our piles of ironing!!  I like your cats!

Sheila – lovely photos of the Mallards – I hope Diane looks in before the switch, as she has a soft spot for Ducks!

Can you tell I am reluctant to go this evening?  Don’t want to miss anything anyone says before I shut down PC tonight to leave in the morning!  BTW – looks like we are trying to push for 600 posts now!!!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • OG: Liz might do as it is only a short detour on the back road...worth itt for a good cup of coffee.

Have a good break and it will all be sorted by the time you come back.

  •

One and a half tins of tuna nearly gone...sorry about shoes etc as she took me by surprise.

  • OG....I hate the ironing, although due to my attempt to show you photos of the 'boys' which seemed like it took an age, the ironing still sits there!  thats now forgotten for the time as  I decided I fancied cake, so in the process of  baking a coffee and walnut cake with webcam in view...Just seen Odin arrive with a fish...

  • SHEILA   thank you for lovely pics. Ord Ban restaurant has closed but it is some weeks since we were down there (find the Aviemore Gallery at the same place a little too tempting on the purchase side so best to stay away) so no doubt the restaurant has been taken over by someone else.

  • Wendy...What a lovely girl she is....Don't they just love tuna!  I have actually tried quietly opening the cupboard door when our cats are asleep, but its as if they have a radar that shouts 'Tuna Time' and before you look around they are both sat at your feet, just so so funny.

  • BETTYBOO  Have certainly heard that animals adapt fairly easily to having a leg amputated. A friend had a mature dog with probs and the vet tried all sorts before admittting defeat and amputating her leg. I think my friend rather wished they had gone down that route in the first place as Briach coped really well despite her advanced years.
