Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers. I hope you all have a great day.
Do check back to last week's chat for OG's gorgeous wildflower garden pics And Lynette's pics of Dunedin & Hampton eaglets.
Linda - I love your pics of Tatton Park, especially autumn.
Alan -24 handbags!!!! Must be related to our Dau#2 who collects shoes & handbags. Me, I have one all-purpose go-everywhere shoulder bag. Plus the gold one OH gave me decades ago and saw the light of day at the weddings.
Brenda, Linda, Lynette, Joan, OG - On my first trip o/s I had a list of what to take. It helps remind me not to forget vital things like eye drops, film (nowadays it is memory cards & battery charger!). When I returned I noted what I didn’t use and now I check the amended list, pruning every trip. Why drag excess around? Invariably my room in B&Bs was on 2nd or3 rd floor. Besides I may buy things, such as jumpers - that’s my weakness. Stupid really because I knit them and the wardrobe is bursting. So, OG, I shall choose one of them. And camera almost lives in said all-purpose bag!
Joan - I heard a story of a local teacher who had 7 children in her class named "Amy" but all spelled differently.
Goodafternoon all: Very chilly up here in the Highlands, started raining about 3am with high winds. Went for drive to Loch Morlich for coffee and scone and it was around 7 degrees. I do hope EJ has her set of thermals on as though we have a bit of sun now it is still chilly.
No sign of Tiger Lily but I do hope she crept in after neighbour got home from work...she is nights at the moment
Margo: I am sure Billie will forgive you, don't they say absence makes the heart grow fonder. Pleased OH treated you to pleasant evening. Which pub as you probably know I spent many years in the area?
Youngest is back from her holiday and will be picking Daisy May up from the kennels about 4pm. She has promised to let me know what her reaction is when she sees her for the first time.OH has to go down to his head office for a couple of days in June and usually stays with his Dad but as he hasn't seen Daisy for a while he has decided to spend 2 nights at youngests.
Hi Margo, so glad you enjoyed your meal last night. I find myself thinking, I hope we can still post these photographs on our own page, for our own pleasure, next week.

So do I Brenda but Ihave never been able to do it myself despite help from the friends on this blog. I will be relieved it I can post at all after the upgrade. Trying not to think too much about it now and don't want to spoil my time in Florence.
Margobird
Left OH outside putting up Pea supports. I came in to do something, but don’t know what it was, so I ended up here – surprise! Neighbour just came over with a piece of cake from their daughter’s wedding.
Sheila – I do hope the Swallows take up residence in your wood-hole! At least three Esks that I know of – one next over from here eastwards (around Langholm and comes into Solway near Gretna) and two in the Lothians – and I think there may be more up north.
Trish – we too have been enjoying that Chris Packham series – the joy on his face when he sees a wonderful sight (such as the baby Manxie or the Dolphins around the boat) is so natural - just like any of us would be – and could not be put on for the cameras. Sorry Mia had a bad night – and you too! I hope she will be more settled by tonight. I don’t know how many Voles there actually are at LG – when they see one, it’s Vernon, and if there are two together, then they are Vernon and Victoria! They come for dropped food at the low feeder by the small glass door at the end of the visitor centre. How often do you get to LG? Are you very near?
Margo – pleased you enjoyed the anniversary meal.
A sprig of Broom:
A pretty little Phlox:
The Heuchera border - orange coloured one is Marmalade":
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Afternoon WendyB I feel even sorrier for EJ and Odin now seeing how low the temperature is with you. The pub is the White Buck near Burley. We always go to there buffet on Boxing Day and year before last we spent New Year's Eve there. The food is excellent and their buffets are out of this world, lots of choices. I like it because you aways see a lot of horses in this area.
Hope Daisy May is happy to be reunited.
I am slightly worried about the upgrade as i need to be able to make contact with you soon about flight, etc and phone numbers. I hate changes and it will probably be OK so must stop worrying about it.
Margo, If you are so worried about contacting Wendy, why don't you and Wendy arrange to both being on line at the same time today/ tomorrow, when one of you can leave your phone number on their page and the other person take note and then delete immediately. Then you can ring one another.
OG, Beautiful photographs of you broom, I have always loved broom, but we haven't any in this garden. I should rectify that. We have phlox and heuchera, but I must check the names.
Margo: Sent you a don't panic message memorize and then delete...all will be well. It has all been planned for so long it wouldn't dare go wrong.
Yes we liked the White Buck and if memory serves me well the portions used to be quite large.
Daisy May wasn't too fussed about leaving her new friends and has walked into the cottage as though she had never been away. Will be going back for a long weekend in July and this time will be taking sun screen. EBTs have very little hair on certain places and sometimes her tummy catches the sun but this time her nose looks a little sore.
SheilaFE - live about 80 miles from LG, but can usually drive there in about 1.5/1.75 hrs - depending how many grockels are on the road!!!!!!!!!!! Usually make a day of it and have lunch at "Mor" - really lovely bread!!
Talking about low temps, we had fresh snow on the top 1000ft of the mountains y'day - haven't been able to see the tops today!
More lovely pics from OG and Joan - did enjoy those! I've got the Marmalade one, OG; we bought it last year and its growing well, so I'm very pleased with it and may get some more.
Glad to hear that margo had a delicious Anniversary Meal with her thoughtful OH - sounds like a place I would like to try - pity it's so far! I had a cousin who lived in Weymouth, and we used to visit occasionally, but alas we lost her a few years ago and now we don't go any more. We went to Poole for a visit on the day of my cousins funeral, as we had stayed the night in a seafront Hotel for the funeral, and it wasn't until the afternoon, so elected to spend our morning in Poole, looking around. We liked it very much, and I bought some china in the Poole Pottery Shop. Didn't know you then, margo, or I would have turned up on the step!
Now I'm off to check the webcam again, and resize some more pics.
