Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers. I hope you all have a great day.
Do check back to last week's chat for OG's gorgeous wildflower garden pics And Lynette's pics of Dunedin & Hampton eaglets.
Linda - I love your pics of Tatton Park, especially autumn.
Alan -24 handbags!!!! Must be related to our Dau#2 who collects shoes & handbags. Me, I have one all-purpose go-everywhere shoulder bag. Plus the gold one OH gave me decades ago and saw the light of day at the weddings.
Brenda, Linda, Lynette, Joan, OG - On my first trip o/s I had a list of what to take. It helps remind me not to forget vital things like eye drops, film (nowadays it is memory cards & battery charger!). When I returned I noted what I didn’t use and now I check the amended list, pruning every trip. Why drag excess around? Invariably my room in B&Bs was on 2nd or3 rd floor. Besides I may buy things, such as jumpers - that’s my weakness. Stupid really because I knit them and the wardrobe is bursting. So, OG, I shall choose one of them. And camera almost lives in said all-purpose bag!
Joan - I heard a story of a local teacher who had 7 children in her class named "Amy" but all spelled differently.
dibnlib I sympathise re clipboard! I asked OH about notebook in error and got nowhere!! MIght have to try Google or help!!

Just sat relaxing with my coffee, then will get on with my next task. Don't laugh but I've started my christmas card making - after leaving them all to the last minute every other year I finally realised that trying to do all the cards when I'm just about at the busiest time at work probably wasn't the best idea. So I'm making one or two cards each week.
I'm hoping to visit Bodnant Garden next week as well as Portmeirion & Glaslyn - all new places for me. I think it was Tiger who said I seemed to be a fan of Welsh ospreys - it is just that they are slightly nearer for me to visit, plus going to visit my sister you drive right past the new osprey centre at Dyfi.
Thank you for the friend requests - I'll be able to find you all when I get back & the new system is in place
Janet
Hi bettyboo. Interested in your sightings of red kite. I saw one over south Cambs a couple of weeks ago ), and reported it here (and others are reported more historically by locals), but that was unique for me. I assume you are north of Cambridge? Lucky you. I assume they are flying over from Northants?

Tiger Is it too late now for osprey to take this as a suitable breeding nest? Or is it because another spp has bred in it, albeit leaving a lovely soft nesting bowl?
Hi SheliaFE...I live in a village near St Ives, although I work in St Neots and cover the surrounding area and villages...I always manage to spot them around Grafham Water, Ellington and most definately around Kimbolton area...another great spot is the Giddings. I don't know if your familiar with the area?! I did spot one though near St Ives last week , which made my jaw drop, which is the closest I've seen to home. I had a patient this week who lives in Tilbrook, just as I was getting in the car to leave a huge Red Kite was soaring above me, which was a 'WOW' moment! Buzzards are also a frequent visitor now, there is one I see every morning on my way to work, perched on the same pole :-) Tina
dibnlib Say we had the URl http://www.rspb.org.uk/
Then in order to copy it to the clipboard you highlight the URL by drawing the cursor across it to highlight it.
Then you right click the highlighted area and an menu comes up. One of the options is <copy>
You click <copy> and the URL is copied to the clipboard. The clipboard is just a place where the information is stored.
Then you go to the place that you want the URL. Point the cursor to where you need the URL and right click again. Again a menu comes up and this time you have a <paste> option. Select <paste> and the URL is pasted to the point where it is wanted. In this case I paste it here http://www.rspb.org.uk/
Job done.

Shelia That is a very interesting question. I am sceptical that the ospreys will have been waiting for the goose to leave.
Watering (under glass) done and OH is still outside earthing up potatoes. Don’t think that everything that should be will be planted out before we leave on Sunday, but we’ll only be away a few days this time, so will hopefully catch up next week. … That bit was interrupted by Son on phone, and OH now inside so have handed the conversation over to him! Son is working full days this week and seems to be coping reasonably well – but says he is tired.
Can’t possibly reply to five pages – we seem to be chatting as if we shell never meet again, but I am sure everything will be okay!
Dibnlib – good to see you back again – and with news of new car!
Brenda – I have no objection to long wedding celebrations – so long as I don’t have to be there! I am a very shy person, so don’t do very well with people I don’t know, but don’t always like the people I do know at that type of gathering! So the thought of 10 hours with in-laws and out-laws is quite scary.
Alan – pleased Hamish’s nurse was able to tidy him up until Friday – I do hope all goes well then, ready for your trip to Wales. Thanks to link re Zurich chicks – lovely translation!!
Tiger – I sometimes look in at the Storchennest in Hoechstadt, and also one in Portugal – on an electricity pylon - http://static.publico.clix.pt/cegonhasnaweb/default.aspx Little ones there are now quite well grown.
Wendy – how good that you could show one of the locals some “new” views! You are lucky with the weather too – I keep telling the sky it can stop now, but this evening we had a few short showers, although it had been dry all day. Hope you will tell us all about your adopted aged cat! I hope you will be lucky with your choice of tickets for 2012.
Bettyboo – Red Kites – love ‘em! We are near the Galloway Red Kites. By the way, you can abbreviate me to OG – everyone does!
Lindy – where are you? I hope you are okay after doctor appointment …
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Oh, Wendy, she's lovely - doesn't look "aged" at all! Had you been considering having a cat again?
