Daily Update (LG Nest) Friday 6 May 2011

EJ just checking the eggs. Settles back and appears to be calling for bacon & eggs or toast & marmalade or something.

  • Dunno is I spelled that right. My French is somewhat RUSTY

It looks like Aussie as in OZ

  • Morning all. Looks ok to me Cirrus.....apart from capitals, but who cares? I'll just say 'ditto'. Experiencing the same pc problems here, too. Captivated this morning watching Perry feeding her 4 and Gos feeding her three; lovely birdsong coming from there. Did anyone see the marvellous programme last night? Chris Packham and his Animal's Guide to Britain. Maybe on at a different time down south. Lots of info on Goshawks and some brilliant filming.

Gotta go, no time today. Happy watching everyone and thanks for sharing all those pics and fish info.

The mind is like a parachute, it doesn't work if it's not open.

  • I was on the chat page so missed the changeover. I presume that EJ took the fish with her ?

  • Good morning all and thanks for the observations from the nest.  Many thanks to Cirrus for fish news and pics. and also to DjoanS for your pic.  Looks dull at LG but can't see if it is rainiing at the moment.  Looiked at weather forecast and it looks as though it is going to rain over tne next few days but not all the time.

Off to catch up with other "chats" now, can't believe how busy it has been.  Had a bit of a stressful start to the day which will be ezpained ine the weekly chat.

  • Cirrus and all  sent an email to LG about 10 minutes ago and had a very quick reply from Richard as follows:-

    Dear Margobird

Thanks for your e-mail. No sure we can sort the sound. If the fault is at the nest end then, yes, you are correct we cannot fix it because of our osprey family. We are still exploring, but don’t hold your breath.

Sorry you’ve lost your osprey-early-warning system!

    Regards

    Richard

It looksa as though we may not get sound but obviously nothing can be done which would disturb EJ and Odin.

Thanks for passing that info on, and my apologies for posting stuff on this site when I should have been on 'weekly chat'. Just don't have time to wee webcams and log into both daily and weekly posts. Will try to do better in future. Everytime I've looked into the nest today Odin has been on duty smartly followed by EJ. Both look quite content if a little damp.

  • Thanks Margo. I understood from his first reply to Cirrus that they knew that a rodent had chewed through the wire, so I mistakenly thought that they could see the damage to the wire. Not good news then but thanks for getting a reply.

  • Quietwoman  no apologies for postings which may not be in the right place, we all do it.

  • Margo dear

    ...........:(                 :(                   :(

but thank you so very much for 'doing the deed' . I weep not to be able to hear the chicks in the egg.

OMG - so very sorry to hear about the fish !!!!  I can't tell you how relieved I am they actually survived. I thought at  first you were going to say you'd had a visit from a Heron.
