Here's a very asleep EJ
and shortly I'll be copying her. It's 00.19 and I am off to roost (as Heron says :) )
think we have an intruder around.. EJ was looking pretty agitated just now and she took off vertically, leaving the eggs alone
She is still looking around her, keeping a wary eye open, with what could be the occasional call or chatter.

Odin has just popped in to take over egg duty. He may have brought in the large lump of red moss on the right (currently hidden by his tail). EJ flies off and Odin settles.
Thanks Shelia. I came back and saw Odin there and thought it was odd he would have brought back another fish so quickly
Sheila Lynette, Pharazon - thanks for pics and info - ejoyable reading. Have to go out now - will look in on you all when i get back
Thanks for the video Gary - very good viewing
A napping Odin
Whey-hey! Some fish! Thanks for that clip, Gary. I've spent another day in the garden trying to catch up. Three months away at the beginning of the year certainly showed. Sooo, I really appreciate all the posts pics and videos.
I noticed Odin had both feet well and truly planted in that fish. Was it a pike? Did anyone identify it?
Thanks again, Gary, just superb!
The mind is like a parachute, it doesn't work if it's not open.
As far as I know QM it is usually a brown trout or possibly a rainbow trout rather than a pike. I cannot say what it was however.
EJ is back on the nest. Didn't see the change over.
Thanks SHEILA. Yes, you are right but it was a very big fish and sometimes Osprey do take pike and it's believed that Odin often fishes in the river or perhaps Spey Bay.
I've just seen the Peregrine chicks. AAAHHH! Sorry! I haven't got back into using MWSnap yet. Don't think I would have been quick enough, anyway.
EJ seems to be amusing herself with some sphagnum moss, now she's turning the eggs. Such a good mother.
SHEILA, forgot to say your pics of the fish delivery were so clear. Thanks for posting them. Glad Mrs. Blackword is OK. Have you been cleaning your windows? Some bird always seems to fly into one of mine after a window cleaning. Don't do it too often.
