Happy Easter to all

Alan says. . . . Another hot day. Even hotter than yesterday with the temp now 24.8c .
Hey Alan - Hot????? We call that "mild". Today expecting 23C here, currently 22.6C.

I have some catching up to do. My apologies to those whose questions I’ve not answered.

Sheila says AQ . . . . I love your travelogue! You are so descriptive and your photos are lovely too. I take it you have an interest in churches. Is this from an historical perspective, or architectural?
Sheila - Both really. I like old things and I love the stonework and shape of old churches. I don’t go into it too deeply. Couldn’t name the styles.

OG says AQ . . . . Oh dear! Sorry the paint saga doesn’t have a happy ending. Is it just reflecting the colour of the carpet?
OG - We thought at first it was just the reflection but we have laid a quite red Turkish mat across one end and paint is still greenish. We shall just have to buy more paintings and cover the walls as I saw in some stately homes in England. LOL

  • Hi OG!    Have finally managed to get on here, and also to upload a pic for my message!  Thanks for your lovely Easter card, and also to AQ for starting us off.

Have a lovely day, Everyone whatever you are doing.

  • Happy Easter to everyone,

Also had great difficulty getting on this morning.

AQ : I think we got up to 25.4c yesterday. Normal high for this time of year is between 12c and 15c, so approx 10c above average. Feels more like summer than spring.

SheilaFE: I am also not religious but do like visiting old churches. There is a great sense of peace and history when you enter them. LadyP is off to mass this morning as she is the religious one.

Thanks to everyone else for the chat etc.

Nice and sunny at the moment but not too hot  . 18.2c. Going out to DIL & SIL later for a meal. Hope it's not another barbecue.

  • Alan  I feel exactly the same as you do about old churches. I am not at all religious but I love the sense of tranquility and peace you find in a church. Particularly places like York Minster.

  • Hi All. Thanks for all the lovely Easter greetings and here is mine. Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

Am trying to catch up with myself at the moment. Recently had internet connection problems, ie no broadband for a day and a half, then my router decided to go kaput. After all that was sorted this site started playing up. Anyway got here eventually :)

  • Hello Osprey fans - hope it's as lovely a day where you are as where I am.

This may come as a huge surprise to some  but (apparently) Christianity is not a religion - it's a personal relationship between the person and God  (don't shoot the messanger   )       :)

How do you get your name on a pic of an egg  !!!! Sigh. I've such a lot to learn. The egg looks so edible Chloe

  • OH WoW ! Alan . Simply awesome. Thanks so much for the link

  • Chloe & Lindy Thank you for the Easter wishes, and the lovely tulips and mouthwatering chocolate egg.  Sadly I have no egg to enjoy.  It doesn't seem to be the same if I buy myself one!  My tulips have gone over quite quickly, no doubt due to the heat.  It is a little cooler today.

Alan what an amazing camera/telescope link to the Golden Eagle nest. Thank you.

Just seen a whitethroat having a drink of water!

    Hello Cirrus.

The nest seems very quiet today - oh, and that too: no sound!  I actually meant not a lot going on whenever I have popped in, and I haven't seen Odin at all, but I guess our paths just have not crossed.

  • OG  What  a beautiful card. I haven't learned how to do such things yet so all I can do is wish everyone a Happy Easter. Have been trying to get on this site since about 7.00 this am (apart from the couple of hours at church) The site was completely dead which I have not seen before, anyway at least I am able to get on now. Lovely early walk with Dillon but the weather has dulled down now.

OH and I are interested in the 3rd Aug get tog but can't confirm as yet as OH changes jobs on 29th May. He will still be a support worker but working for a different provider. Unlike the people he supports at the mo who have major problems, the new work will be providing support to much more able people so this will give OH more scope for activities. One of the people he will be supporting is able to enjoy riding his bike, swimming meals out and a trip to the pub to play darts and doms so OH is looking forward to it though he will have to drive to work again whereas at the mo he can walk there but it will be worth it for the job satisfaction.

MARGO We got word during the week that contracts have now been completed on OHs Aunts house which is a relief as it has been 15 months since the flat went on the market.
