Happy Easter to all

Alan says. . . . Another hot day. Even hotter than yesterday with the temp now 24.8c .
Hey Alan - Hot????? We call that "mild". Today expecting 23C here, currently 22.6C.

I have some catching up to do. My apologies to those whose questions I’ve not answered.

Sheila says AQ . . . . I love your travelogue! You are so descriptive and your photos are lovely too. I take it you have an interest in churches. Is this from an historical perspective, or architectural?
Sheila - Both really. I like old things and I love the stonework and shape of old churches. I don’t go into it too deeply. Couldn’t name the styles.

OG says AQ . . . . Oh dear! Sorry the paint saga doesn’t have a happy ending. Is it just reflecting the colour of the carpet?
OG - We thought at first it was just the reflection but we have laid a quite red Turkish mat across one end and paint is still greenish. We shall just have to buy more paintings and cover the walls as I saw in some stately homes in England. LOL

  • dibnlib   That is a really  great apple blossom picture.

Lynette   That is a very relaxed looking cat. But then I supposed that most of them are.

Annette & Cirrus  From what I remember Peter Higgs did not believe you can travel faster than light.

Edited to add  dibnlib     Great to see Dillon again.

  • What lovely pics, dibnlib!  Thanks for those.  Also what a beautiful cat, 'Misty' from Lynette. I'm still trying to catch up on yesterday/last night - see that the posts were jumbling up again.

  • Tiger:   I can travel faster than light when I hear noises on the webcam and I think anything is happening at LG which I'm missing!!

  • How lovely dibnlib -  the Loch  is like a mill pond - lovely reflection

    Dillon is a real cutie

  • Morning all,

Dibnlib : Lovely crab apple blossom pic. We have a flowering cherry in the front garden but I also like crab apple trees as they are decorative all the year round with the fruits staying on long after the leaves. Nice pic of Dillon and The Loch.

Lynette : Thanks for the pics of the goldfinches. We had 3 around yesterday, Nice pic of cat also.

Thanks to everyone else for the chat etc.

Hamish has some penicillin for his foot which has quite a lot of swelling and also Metacalm for pain relief. He has to go back on tuesday for further examination.

Weather is dull and cold this morning with temp at only 6c at the moment. LadyP is off to Weight Watchers this morning. Cant understand why as she is only 9 stone something. Think it is just to keep her daughter company.

Feeling a bit under the weather today. Managed to get through the whole winter without a cold and now I have one.

Hope everyone has a good day.

  • Hope the medication can help poor Hamish, Alan.  Sorry to hear that you are under the weather, too. Perhaps it will be a short lived snuffle.

  • Morning all ... another lovely day here, although a bit cooler. Didn't get on here yesterday to post, so too much to reply to individually ... I did see lovely pics of dogs and cats and scenery ... and gorgeous crab-apple blossom which I have saved to my folder!

OH is taking me out for a run in the car and lunch somewhere en route. It is my birthday tomorrow ... and since that day has been hi-jacked by a certain royal couple, my celebration has been brought forward a day!!

I must mention Diane - so glad to read that you survived your floods and storms ok ... it must be so worrying for you.

Alan - sorry you are under the weather ... and I hope the medication helps Hamish.

    Must go and get sorted.

    Take care

Joan - avid bird and nature watcher in Northumberland!

  • I do hope Hamish shows real improvement by Tuesday, Alan and I'm sorry you're feeling so rotten today. Hope you can spoil your self in some way  (AQ's cake comes to mind   :)    _

Happy Birthday for tomorrow DJoan - have a grand day out and wonderful lunch

  • Re Sony: My account is with Qriocity, which streams movies (or used to.....?) to a TV via the internet. I wondered if I could  change my password there, so logging this morning this is what I got.

  • Good morning, Thursday.  Thanks for overnight posts.

Lynette – “choir practice” sounds interesting!  Well done with Goldfinch photos using your new camera – and lovely photo of Misty – looks a very contented cat, just letting life just happen around her!

jsb – sorry BlueTits have not used the box this time around – sounds like they are considering it for next time!  A Chaffinch pair seem to have a nest in or very near our garden – but haven’t found where yet.  Re Playstation – your screen capture brings stable doors and horses to mind – hope your account is secure.

Diane -  pleased that Wednesday storms did not hit Indiana, but the force of those Tornados in Alabama etc sounds very fierce, and a sadly high number of deaths too.  News from Son was not good – seems he will give up the job after two week trial when they close this week – he just isn’t coping with the unfamiliar work, keeps getting things wrong and finds the split shift difficult and isn’t sleeping – seems to suggest he still isn’t well enough for full time work.  Cook who he works with is very confused because he is so competent doing stuff at church (music and working with the young people).  He has his next Doctor appointment very soon.

Annette – no carrot cake yesterday!

AQ – maybe your thought inspired me re the Hollyhock!  We have another in the same bed but can’t remember the colour – just know it isn’t deep pink (it didn’t make it into any of last years photos, I checked).

Lindy – enjoy your day off tomorrow – and the trip to see SweetPea at the weekend.

Dibnlib – lovely photos from LG – Loch looks so still, but Dillon doesn’t look so pleased with whatever he found in the water!  Glad you managed to get to the Caperwatch.  Must have missed your Apple Blossom mentioned by Tiger, but pleased the tree is doing well – assuming it is the new one from last year.

Alan – sorry Hamish is still sore, and on antibiotics again - and pain relief, poor boy.  Sorry to hear that you have a cold, too;  OH is just recovering from one – nothing serious, but a nuisance.

Joan – enjoy the pre-Birthday out and lunch.

Must get tidied up for Cleaner’s last visit today – no news yet about replacement.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
