Odin left but came back immediately to mate. EJ now left the nest.
Margobird
EJ just flew onto the nest and is chirping gently .... I wonder if Odin is eating a fish close by?

Can hear EJ but not see her and down comes the rain again.
Bye all must go now osprey watching over for today. As I leave the rain is coming down and EJ must be away sheltering somewhere.
Morning all: Can't figure why they don't just toss that clump of moss over the side (oh, right, "we might need it" - sounds familiar. We have lots of "clumps of moss" in our garage).
Welcome Kelly; thanks all for pix - especially Diane's "good morning" from Odin. Off to continue battle with printer......
it's actually beginning to look like a nest now as opposed to a random clump of sticks
Odin is back, moving twigs and scraping yet again and leaves before I finish typing. Seems to have stopped raining.

Hello everyone
Can anyone advise what sort of time line there is between the first mating and the first egg being laid?
Here is my thinking.
2009 Odin arrives 3rd April at 1.30pm and first egg is before noon on 16th April
2010 Odin arrives 3rd April at about 7.55pm and first egg is first seen at 8.12pm on 15th April
2011 Odin arrives about 2nd April about 5.09pm and first egg is????????
My guess would be about 8am on 15th April.
It is worth going back and reading the blogs and comments at the time.

I'm still having probs with my broadband, but I can hear an occasional clonk or chirrup, but the nest is empty. The soft furnishings are coming on a treat, although I see the dried clump of grass is still with us! (bottom right)

Thanks Tiger. It is very helpful to have these sort of data to hand (wing tips) at this time!
