Margo your comment about bluebells coming up earlier...  there was a lot about bluebells on the morning news programme earlier in the week, and the Wildlife Trust chap was saying that the very warm spell we have enjoyed a week or more ago pushed them on quickly.  They are now enjoying this much cooler weather and the season should last a while yet.  My thought is if we don't get any rain soon they will flop early anyway.  We have certainly had very little rain for well over six weeks, and even the winter snow wasn't enough to fill the aquifers.  But knowing my luck, if it does start to rain it won't stop for weeks!  I think the farmers would like a top up.

Thanks to both Annette and Alan for the lovely bluebell pics - how wonderful they are. And I do so love the smell.

I've put a bit of a poem about the 'Animals Guide to Britain' programme on the Poetry Corner pages (under Osprey Poems) for those who like them.

For tennis lovers, Andy has just lost to Nadal in Monte Carlo (BBC 5Live) 2-1 in the semi final, and gave a really gallant performance.  But we always support a loser, don't we!  Nadal will be playing David Ferrer, who beat Meltzer, surprisingly in straight sets.
