Evening all: Been out most of the day; just sat down - phew.  Off to check other threads; back in a bit!

  • Interesting AQ - just tried it and somehow my right foot wanted to go anticlockwise when I tried to draw a number 6 in the air - weird.

  • Wendy It's a small world!!  Father's (Civil Service) job brought him to London (from Huntingdon) and we moved to Sawbridgeworth in '63.  I had two years at the Herts & Essex High School (for Girls!!).  Much Hadham is a delightful village and has an excellent garden nursery - Hopleys - which has gone on to great things like Chelsea Flower Show.  You often refer to your 'spinning' classes, but I seem to think it is connection with swimming rather than wool and wheels.  Explain!!

  • AQ Like Lynette my foot seemed to change direction.  If I really thought about it, all was fine, but when I concentrated on the '6' it changed!

  • Lovely morning up here for our Ospreys today...thinking of putting the washing out. It has been bright enough before but with the winds no chance of it staying on the line.

Enjoyed CP last night but I am one of his biggest fans.

Sheila: Spinning involves a wheel but it is a bike wheel in a gym and you do group excercise on it. Fast and furious and lots of fun. I am probably one of the oldest going but I always keep up.

My first husband worked at Stansted Airport for the CAA and it was that long ago they have rebuilt the terminal twice since we left. I worked at Dunmow and then in Bishops Stortford. Too far from the sea and we eventually moved back to Dorset.

Have a good day all rushing to do a bit of HW as I am meeting up with a couple of girls from FB who are coming over from Mull and then off to LG to look after our egg(s) for a week.

  • Hello, All:  Dry here and quite warm after the colder weather we've been having for the last few days.

We went out last night, to a local pub (our Wedding Anniversary - he's still not got rid of me!)  So I missed the Wildlife programme but of course recorded it and will watch it later today.  OH ate Lamb Henry, which is a huge piece of lamb with gravy & veg, and I had slow braised steak in red wine.  Yummy.  Then we ignored the diet and He had a version of Baked Alaska with raspberry couli, and I had Choc Fudge Cake - heavenly.

Sat by the TV on our return, too tired to even change channels, as Dog was at our feet after an anxious time alone in the house, wondering whether we had deserted him forever.

Must do more boring h.work today, as it still looks very unkempt.  Don't seem to have got into a routine lately, and things get put off  'for another day'.

  • Wendy spinning sounds excellent exercise and as you say, fun.  I used to do yoga years ago, when I worked I did steps and aerobics and went swimming with one of the guys once a week, doing lanes.  Again good exercise, but I'm afraid it has all fallen away since I took redundancy in 2004.  OH puts me to shame!  Your time at Stansted must have been when I belonged to 18+ and after a night out together we would often go to the old airport for a late night coffee!  Places weren't open late in those days.  And it also had the first hole in the wall money dispenser too!  So you are off to LG volunteering.  Well done.  Have a great time.  Will you be staying there or travelling daily?

  • AQ  Just followed your instructions, and my feet go in all directions!  My poor brain can't cope at all.  (I'm right handed)

  • Sheila: No I am not a volunteer but meeting 2 girls who are....never thought of doing that really as I like my reature comforts.

I moved to Stansted area in 69 and moved back to New Forest in 73. It also has bank that opened at weekends that was something unique as well.

  • Hello one and all, I hope all is well with each of you Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

Chris Packham's programme was wonderful. I've recorded it so I can see EJ's nest and watch the Ospreys fish at the fish farm over and over. Could anyone tell which bird had the sat pack on? Wish we could have seen a leg ring. I wondered if it were Rothes.
